June 2, 2020
Chairman Adams and Middleton School Board Trustees,
itis with great sadness that | writing my letter of resignation. | have learned a lot this year, but
am afraid that due to the working environment and surrounding conditions | am unable to
continue my position as Superintendent. There was a professional disagreement that took place
and from there the situation turned adverse. | knew as | entered this position that there would
be different layers to sift through and understand; however, the intricacies of the layers only
became confounded over time. And | now know that this is an environment where | won't be
able to be successful. Admittedly | spent most of my time this first year navigating outside
entities that had an interest in moving our district forward. The focus of my daily work was
often shifted and unfortunately, for many staff this was not seen as in the best interest of the
district. On more than one occasion | was working on items from the direction of board
members; which caused a divide with staff. At this point in time | truly believe that it is in the
best interest of the district to hire a Superintendent that is a better fit for the overall needs of
everyone,
Due to the fact that | have already reached my contracted days, 206 out of 200, | would ask that
you accept this letter of resignation effective immediately, but request that | be paid through
June 30, 2020, as | have fulfilled my contractual obligations for year 1.
Sincerely,
Dr. Sherawn Reberry
