As humanity is poised on the cusp of a powerful cultural shift into unity and oneness, it is imperative
for women to fully take their place alongside men. Women see things differently, do things differently
and are affected by things differently than men. Sister Joan Chittister observes “At the crossroads in
life, authority goes one direction: back. . . Leadership, on the other hand, rewrites the book. . . . The
times are clear. The needs are now. The time for new decisions is upon us. Authority is not enough for
times such as these. We need leaders now.”
While women's leadership is a focus of a number of US and Canadian organizations, very few if any
give central attention to the spiritual and faith-oriented basis of and motivation for that leadership. In
truth, western women of spirit and faith are still learning individually and collectively how to
effectively bring forth their leadership.
Alchemy of Our Spiritual Leadership: Women Redefining Power authentically invites creative co-
creation by many diverse women leaders and spiritual women’s organizations and catalyzes a more
cohesive community among women of spirit with the capacity to generate on-going relationship,
collaboration and action.
