Edmund's perception changed after he met with Aslan in the story of The Lion, the Witch and

the Wardrobe. In the beginning of this story, for the first time Edmund knew the figure of Aslan
from Mr Beaver, when Edmund and his siblings met him in the forest. At that time, Mr Beaver
takes the kids of Pevensie went to his house and during their journey, Mr Beaver begin to tell
the story of Aslan. Specifically it describes in chapter 7 p.30 said Mr Beaver "They say Aslan is
on the move - perhaps has already landed." After Mr. Beaver mentioned Aslan's name, Edmund
recognized the name and suddenly he felt something that so strange like a negative vibes in
him meanwhile his siblings felt something good like a positive vibes in them. Based what's
author said in the text, chapter 7 p.30 "At the name of Aslan each one of the children felt
something jump in its inside. Edmund felt a sensation of mysterious horror. Peter felt suddenly
brave and adventurous. Susan felt as if some delicious smell or some delightful strain of music
had just floated by her. And Lucy got the feeling you have when you wake up in the morning
and realize that it is the beginning of the holidays or the beginning of summer."

In my opinion, the sensation that he felt at that time was an indication that The White Witch
was a bad person. However, because of Edmund's greed for the Turkish Delight and the
persuasion of The White Witch that she would made him a king in Narnia, it affected him to
stick up with The White Witch. In fact, Edmund already knew how strong and great Aslan's
figure was from the story of The Beavers in chapter 7 "Why, don't you know? He's the King.
He's the Lord of the whole wood, but not often here, you understand. Never in my time or my
father's time. But the word has reached us that he has come back. He is in Narnia at this
moment. He'll settle the White Queen all right. It is he, not you, that will save Mr Tumnus." And
also in p.34 Mrs Beaver said "I tell you he is the King of the wood and the son of the great
Emperor-beyond-the-Sea. Don't you know who is the King of Beasts? Aslan is a lion - the Lion,
the great Lion."

Interestingly, even though Edmund knew what kind of Aslan is based on the story of The
Beaver, Edmund doesn't fear instead he saw Aslan as a weak creatures and he doubting that
Aslan has a powerful magic by compared the acts of Aslan and The White Witch. Specifically it
describes I chapter 9 p.39 Edmund said "All these people who say nasty things about her are
her enemies and probably half of it isn't true. She was jolly nice to me, anyway, much nicer than
they are. I expect she is the rightful Queen really. Anyway, she'll be better than that awful
Aslan!" At least, that was the excuse he made in his own mind for what he was doing. It wasn't
a very good excuse, however, for deep down inside him he really knew that the White Witch
was bad and cruel."
At this point, I can see the character of Edmund as a person who is arrogant, selfish, and
stubborn. He already know that The White Witch is a bad person but Edmund still insisted on
being on her side and still wanted to betray his siblings. From Edmund perception, Aslan is not
just a weak creature but according to Edmund, Aslan is also a creature that is no stronger than
the white witch who has made eternal winter in Narnia. Other evidence is there when Edmund
arrived at the kingdom of The White Witch he saw a lion statue and he thought that it was
Aslan. Specifically it describes in chapter 9 p.41 Edmund said "This is the great Lion Aslan that
they were all talking about. She's caught him already and turned him into stone. So that's the
end of all their fine ideas about him! Pooh! Who's afraid of Aslan?" - "Yah! Silly old Aslan! How
do you like being a stone? You thought yourself mighty fine, didn't you?" So it can be
concluded, before Edmund meets Aslan directly, from Edmund's perception, he thinks Aslan is
an unwise, weak, scaredy cat and unreliable king as he should protect Narnia and set Narnia
free from the curse of The White Witch.

Then, in the middle of this story, Edmund realized the mistakes that he had done to his siblings.
It turned out that he became White Witch's prisoner rather than the King. At the moment
before The White Witch kill him, he was saved by Aslan's creature and brought him to met his
siblings. And the moment when they met together, Aslan talked to Edmund in the field, but in
the text it didn't mentioned about Edmund's perception when he met Aslan. But I think he had
changed his perception about Aslan when Edmund knew that the creatures that saved him are
good creatures that are came from Aslan. In another moment, when The White Witch came to
the stone table and meet all of them, she wants to take Edmund back because he is a traitor. At
that time, Edmund start to crying and keep staring at Aslan as if it's Aslan is the only his savior.
From those parts, it became the proof in which Edmund's perception already changed. In
Edmund's opinion before he met Aslan, Aslan is a weak lion. However, after Edmund met Aslan,
he changed his perception. Aslan is not an ordinary lion, he's more powerful than The White
Witch, and be respected by all creatures in Narnia.

In the end of this story, there was a big war between The White Witch and Aslan that helped by
the kids of Pevensie. Finally, Aslan won the war and be throne the kids of Pevensie as Queens
and Kings. From the end of this story, the conclusion is that Edmund's perception had changed
after he met Aslan. Additionally, not only Edmund's perception that has changed in this story,
but also his character. Based on what's author said in last chapter p.77 "Edmund was a graver
and quieter man than Peter, and great in council and judgement. He was called King Edmund."
These two elements (the perception and character) made the story of The Lion, the Witch, and
the Wardrobe sorely interesting.
