top priority. Following all national and local guidance, we have
taken additional steps, through the guidance and
leadership of Nord Anglia management which has
already opened schools in China, South East Asia,
and many countries in Europe.

This guide is here to help you.

If you have any questions, please do

contact us.
The Team
We have a team managing all the new and enhanced responsibilities we
have to do to make sure everything works as it should. The team is headed by
the Principal and meets daily.

We are able to draw upon a large network of external key contacts to ensure
that we are kept up to date with any local/national developments. This
includes government and health officials as well as contacts within other
schools. We also have the global Nord Anglia team who help us bring the
best practices from schools internationally, many of whom have been
operating for some weeks safely.

Our on-site medical team are trained to isolate and take appropriate
measures for any child or adult reporting any symptoms during the
school day.

for a minimum of 14 days. You must tell the School if
you or any of your family travel out of state before you
return home. We may offer you additional advice or
ask you to follow other measures.
Please check your and your child’s temperatures
at home before leaving for school. If anyone’s Parents are not allowed on site unless by exception and
temperature is above 37.50C/99.5F on the normally through appointment.
Facemask
What we will do
All staff will be wearing facemasks.

We will follow government guidance as to whether the wearing of facemasks is

necessary for your child, but we expect this to be likely.

How you can help

Please provide a facemask for your child.

Help your child learn how to put on the mask, and how to wear it safely, as well
as how to look after it when it needs to be removed (e.g. eating and drinking).
The face mask should stay round their neck rather than be removed and placed
on a surface. Masks need to be replaced regularly and disposed of safely.
School buses
How you can help
What we are doing Make sure your child knows what will be expected.

Practice the routine.

We have hand sanitiser and non-invasive temperature checks on entry to
the buses.
If your child has a temperature or any other symptoms, they must not
board the bus, and must not come to school.
Our driver and other staff follow the same safety measures as all our
staff, including wearing masks.
Practice social distancing (for adults and children) while you wait for
transport.
We will follow government guidance on the wearing of masks by children
as it is issued.
You must stay and wait until your child has been cleared to enter the
bus.
On some buses, we have changed seating arrangements to meet social
distancing. This may involve a change in the timetable for buses for
some families and, if this is the case, we will be in touch with you individ-
ually.
Transport and drop off by parents

What we are doing

To allow time for everyone to be temperature checked, children need to come to school a
little earlier.

We have a plan to prevent too many people arriving at one time and will communicate it
to you before school opens, depending on your child’s Grade and government orders.

How you can help

You will not be allowed on site. Please respect this.

If you are leaving your vehicle, you must wear a face mask and follow social distancing
rules.
Moving around the School Give your child their own water bottle with their name on.

With lockers out of your use, your child may need to remember more

things each day and may need to carry more around the school – help
them with a checklist. Make sure their bag is comfortable and appropriate.
Discourage them from bringing unnecessary personal possessions into
school.
We have changed the routes children and staff can take around the school
to ensure that everyone can keep a safe distance.

These routes are clearly marked, and children will be shown them so that
they know how to move around the School.

Lockers are out of use because these are areas where lots of children can
congregate at one time.

Water fountains are out of use for similar reasons. Supervised water bottle
refilling stations will be in place as an alternative.

We have hand sanitiser throughout the campus.

We have changed our timetable so that fewer children are congregating at

break and lunchtime and lesson changeover.

What you can do

Speak to your child about the changes and how important it is to follow
the new rules.
In the Classroom
What we are doing
We will be changing the layout of classrooms to make sure government require-
ments are met in each teaching area.

Cleaning and disinfection will take place throughout the day and again at the
end of day.

Ventilation will be used to help air circulate.

Teachers will remind and supervise children to ensure children stay at a safe
distance from each other.

What you can do

Talk to your child to help them prepare for their return of school.

Help them to understand how they can keep safe as well as their
responsibility to help others stay and feel safe.

What you can do

Talk to your child to help them prepare for some changes to their routine.

Children should follow these same rules outside of school, e.g. if playing
with friends.
Toilets
What we will do
We have temporarily reduced some toilet facilities to help us manage
numbers in any set of toilets.

We have created additional posters reminding students of the

importance of thorough handwashing.

There will be enhanced supervision for our youngest children. DID YOU WASH
YOUR HANDS?

How you can help

Make sure your child knows how to wash their hands thoroughly and
the importance of this in keeping safe.

Checks

What we will do How you can help

Speak to us if you have any concerns.
We will be running through special re-opening checks, making sure security
systems, perimeter fencing, A/C units, fire alarms, swimming pool filtration
systems, boilers and all other machinery and systems are working as they
should.

We are operating high level, deep cleaning and special procedures for the
re-opening of our kitchens.

All staff will be trained thoroughly on the new protocols.

We are notifying all contractors and vendors of their new responsibilities.

Keeping distance between people is an important part of
preventing the spread. Many of our measures, in buses, in
classrooms and in playgrounds are designed to support social
distancing. Please make sure your child understands what he
or she can do to play their part in staying safe.
Our entire school community looks forward to re-opening
and to welcoming your child back to school. Rest assured, we
are here for you throughout and encourage and welcome your
questions and suggestions. Here’s to continued learning,
friendship and staying safe by working together.
