Women suffrage is one of the events I would like to participate in but it happened a long

time ago. When I was a kid I was taught that women have to do housework and take

care of children. And, at that time I never heard of the term women right or any kind of

human right. Now I know what women’s movement is for, it all happens because they

have a different idea and they want to be the same as men do. We all knew that some

of the work can’t be done by men only because they just can’t think straight sometimes

and women can also think and it might be better. I was one of the people who think that

women should be equal to men because we are all human and that is no different. I was

born during the year that all genders could vote for the community but I never knew that

back then women got oppressed and didn’t have the right to vote. I felt disappointed for

men that women didn’t have the right to vote even though they were fighting for their

rights for a very long time. They fought with Congress and it lasted more than 50 years

and they never stopped until they reached the goal. I think that women have a better

idea for developing countries more than men do. Because in my opinion, men usually

think more aggressively than women when it comes to conflict. Women tend to handle

problems greater than men do and this should be handy when women have all right to

participate in politics. One of the people who I think really shows people all over the

United State that this movement is what women really want is Alice Paul. She very well

knows because she was the leader who planned the march in 1913. I think this really a

way to come out and protest and show all the men that they were good at something

the same as men. I also think that she has been planning this event for a very long time

because she chooses the right day and at that, the people were just gathered around
before the inauguration of President Woodrow Wilson. They got all of the men’s and

women’s attention and they were in the newspaper the other day. On the same day,

many men were angry with the women who were walking and protesting so they

attacked the protester. This demonstrates and makes me believe more that men just

solve problems by using physical force before they can even think. In my opinion, this

action that they did to the protester is the same as you hit and insult your own mother.

These women didn’t harm or destroy something but they just stand out and demand

their rights. These men also didn’t have the right to insult or harm this protester. At

those times women were just not permitted to vote but they didn’t have much law to

protect themselves too. Because Congress has only men and they make the law to

favor themselves. In my own experience, women suffrage is one of the most

movements that I appreciate that it happens and it lets our humankind move forward.
