(a) The following anti-submarine measures were in effect at this station in
compliance with the "General Plan and Dootrine for Combined Air and Surface Craft
Anti-Submarine Operations", as contained in Commander, Gulf Sea Frontier
letter AL6/UzZ/A4-3/QS1/G8F, No. 007, dated March 9, 1942.
(1) Air Patrols
Tnstruotor Pilots flying model SB0-8 type aireraft, equipped
with ealibor .60 fixed and onliber .80 freo machine guns, and
carrying one Mk. XVII Mod. 1 Aireraft Depth Bomb, accompanied
students on navigational training flights. The flights wore
conducted at various tines throughout tho day covering, in
general, the aren bounded by a straight line from MIAMI to
MATANILLA SHOAL LIGHT BUOY, thence to GUN CAY, and thence to
MIAME.
(2) Striking Groups

Outside of routine working hours, two pilots, in the duty
tion, are available.
(>) In addition, a Eighter Group, consisting of nine (9) model F2ZA type air-
craft is amed and made Feady for Imnodinte take-off nt the completion 6f scheduled
daytime operations. They aro maintained in ready status until the comencenent
of scheduled flight operations on the following day.
