Center for Women’s HealthCare’s new building
nearing completion on M-57 in Carson City
CARSON CITY — If it hasn’t yet caught your eye, there has
been a noticeable flurry of construction activity just north of
Carson City Hospital on M-57.
The Center for Women’s HealthCare (CFWHC), currently
located on the Carson City Hospital campus at 401 E. Elm St.
in Carson City, plans to move to its new home across the street
this spring. A grand opening event is scheduled for Wednes-
day, May 4, 2011, to honor all of the mothers and generations
in the local community who have received health care through
CFWHC over the years.
The building planning and creation process have been un-
derway since 2005, with the groundbreaking ceremony taking
place in June 2010.
“CFWHC has worked very hard to create a better health-
care facility for our patients,” said Dr. Michelle Becher, an OB-
GYN and a co-owner of the independent CFWHC practice. “All
of us that work here together at CFWHC have put endless hours
into designing a place, a home, to better serve – the reason we
all come to work each day – our patients.”
Carson City Hospital owns the current building in which GETTING CLOSE: In June 2010, the staff of the Center for Women’s HealthCare gathered for

Naval Academy flag presented to VFW Post 3306

During a POW-MIA ceremony
on Dec. 29 at Howard City VFW
Post 3306, Midshipman Megan
Wolowicz presented a flag from the
United States Naval Academy to
former Post Commander Charlie
Becker.
The Naval Academy at Annapo-
lis, Maryland gives young men and
women academic and professional
training necessary to develop into
naval officers. Everyday, each mid-
shipman is drilled in the attributes
of integrity, honor and respect for
the principles of the U.S. Navy.
Megan is a Tri-County High
School graduate and a member of
Academy Class 2012. While briefly
addressing the gathering, Wolowicz
stated she had known Becker since
she was about 4. She went on to say
that her highest priority is to be a
role model for the young people in
this area. To that, Post 3306 and its
Ladies Auxiliary would say: “Well
done, Megan. We are extremely
proud of you.”

Is Right Around The Corner
Change
We are like plants; we are either growing or dying. There is no stopping. Life is filled with cycles, up and down. In Physics,
there is a term call Entropy. This means everything moves toward maximum randomness or chaos. That is the natural course
of things unless something holds it together and brings things back to order. Life is what creates the energy to put things
FAMILY HEALTH CARE back in order. If you never clean and organize your home, eventually it will be utter chaos. So, growth, in human terms,
means thinking, organizing, and planning for the future. This is the creative process that brings it all back together when
things have drifted apart.
Deep inside, we all know that we’re changing. But our ability to change is limited by our comfort zone. On every issue
we have a comfort zone. Some may like crowds, some like to be alone, our body weight has a comfort zone, and tobacco
and alcohol use have a comfort zone. To change we must learn and accept something new about ourselves. It may be a
small step outside of our comfort zone. That changes us, just a little. We no longer want to live the way we have been.
That means we had to change and to learn to live in a different way. Once we begin to make changes it becomes nonstop:
learn about ourselves, change a little, learn about ourselves, change a little more, and so on. All we know is that each step
of learning and changing makes life better. How long can it keep getting better? As long as we keep learning; striving to
know more about ourselves.
Natural health is about change and taking responsibility. We have been conditioned by the medical community, the
news, the television, the government, our religions, and our schools to follow the rules. This builds our comfort zones and
keeps us stuck there.
Trang Phan Aaron Reames B. Robert Reames A few months ago, I had a man in the office for a consultation for natural treatments for cancer. Some time after he
began his natural program, he told me that he had to tell his regular doctor to treat him like he was going to live, not like

pressure and diabetes as aggressively as before. This man had made a choice, he was going to live

step; a leap of faith. This greatly increases chances of living to be an old man.

Fortunately, most of us are not faced with such a huge task of changing our thinking. Change
always starts in the mind. We must have a desirable, worthwhile goal. We then must mentally
