After replace MOC card run PUTTY software from your computer

Plug in MOC PE with USB Hub to boot, and ready a NOT BOOTABLE pendrive with all firmware folder inside to
update MOC BIOS, IEV, edit FRU and FPGA

1. Update moc bios firmware

-before mount pendrive run command “fdisk -l (this is L)” to check pendrive location, for example will show this on
the list /dev/sdc1

-Run command “mount /dev/sdc1 /mnt” to get in to your pendrive folder, next run command “cd /mnt”, run command
“dir” to check inside pendrive are your folder correct.

-If correct, check your MOC folder and run “cd MOC” next “cd BIOS4.00.11” next “cd 4_00_11” to read the folder
inside, run “dir” check if have the file name is upgrade.sh inside the folder.

-run command “upgrade.sh” to flash the BIOS MOC

-last check after successfully flash, run command “dmidecode -t 0” to check BIOS version 4.00.11

2. Update IEV
-After done flash MOC BIOS run command “cd ..” to previous folder until back to MOC folder, run “dir” again to
check folder name IEV1.31, run command “cd IEV1.31” next run “dir” to check is “IEV1.31.bin” file are inside the
folder.

-run all this command by step

./ipmitool isc ie update bootloader IEV1.31.bin
./ipmitool isc ie update recovery IEV1.31.bin
./ipmitool isc ie update full IEV1.31.bin

-after done flash IEV, run command “./ipmitool mc info” check IEV version is IEV1.31

3. Update Fru
-After done flash IEV, run command “cd ..” back to main folder again, “dir” again to check MOC_fru1.1 folder is
inside, “cd MOC_fru1.1”

-run command as below

./ipmitool raw 0x06 0x52 0x01 0xc0 0x01 0x08
./ipmitool raw 0x06 0x52 0x01 0xc0 0x00 0x08 0x00

-Edit FRU Alibaba MOC asset tag ID number, example “TD11101000779424” (use asset tag ID from old MOC card
label)
./ipmitool fru edit 0 field p 5 “TD11101000779424 “ (start from digit “4”, hit 32 space)
./ipmitool fru edit 1 field p 5 “TD11101000779424 “ (start from digit “4”, hit 32 space)

-Next edit MOC card Serial Number from asset tag, example “QTKB08S40254B20” (use asset tag ID from old MOC
card label)
./ipmitool -I heci fru edit 0 field p 4 “QTKB08S40254B20”
./ipmitool -I heci fru edit 1 field p 4 “QTKB08S40254B20”

-After done FRU edit, run command “./ipmitool fru list” is same as from the “OLD” Asset tag ID and SN
4. ReFlash FPGA
-After done flash all the firmware above, run “cd ..” back to main folder to find FPGA folder inside your pendrive.

-“cd FPGA” to the folder

-run command before doing flash FPGA “chmod -R a+x *”

-Next run command “rpm -ivh moc-flash-tool-0.20-0.alios7.x86_64-for-Inventec.rpm”

-Next run command “./fpga_write_new.sh moc_320_v1009.bin”

-After flash FPGA done, power cycle whole server.

5. After done flash FPGA check MOC bandwidth and boot to MOC PE, MOC PXE, Linux PE

-run this command “lspci - vvv ¦ grep - i baba - A 30”

-Example show as below from all MOC PE, MOC PXE and Linux PE must be width x8
LnkCap: 8GT/s , Width x8
LnkSta: 8GT/s , Width x8

Run this command “smartctl - i /dev/sda” to check MOC serial number

Run this command “smartctl -H /dev/sda” to check MOC HDD overall-health self-assessment test result: PASSED
