OpManager  12  is  an  integrated  network  management  software  that  facilitates  efficient  and  hassle  free

Drawbacks with SolarWinds when compared to OpManager:

 Requires multiple tools – SolarWinds monitors the network devices through SNMP protocol. To monitor 
servers and VMs, it requires a separate tool called SAM - Server and Application Monitor. To monitor network 
traffic flows, it requires NTA - NetFlow Traffic Analyzer. For managing configuration changes it requires NCM - 
Network Configuration Management Tool. For IP SLA based VoIP and WAN monitoring it requires VoIP & 
Network Quality Manager. For IPAM and switch port management, it requires IP Address Manager.

On the other hand OpManager, provides the facility of add-ons through which one can integrate other tools in 
itself. 
 
Complex licensing model

SolarWinds licensing is based on the number of elements in your network. For instance, if your network has 
10 switches each with 48 ports then the total count of the ports will be 480. Hence, you will be required to get 
480 licenses altogether. So, this type of licensing is more complex.

Whereas, OpManager offers device-based license and this helps you to monitor any number of interfaces and 
performance metrics for a device. This is beneficial to the user as it does not require separate licenses to 
monitor interfaces, disk volume and other components.
