Summary of Significant Engineering Work

1) After my graduation I joined to Engineering Department, Inland Water Transport

of Ministry of Transport.
As an assistance engineer at Diesel Repair Shop, I had experience of repairing
various marine diesel engines such as National R4AM8, BlackstoneE6MGR,
MWM RHS435S, Kelvin TASC8, Volvo Penta TMD120AK and Dorman
6LETCA and so on. I also repaired various types of marine gearboxes such as
Reintjes, Kelvin, Nico Niigata, ZF and various types of marine propulsion units
such as Schottel SRP300, Hydromaster S4 and HRP 410( Holland Roar
Propeller ).I also trained students and engineer beginners from Marine Diesel
Training School, Institute of Marine Technology and Universities how to maintain
and repair marine machineries. At Diesel Repair Shop. I had total working weeks
of 144 staring from 28, September 1994 to 30, November 2003.

2) Staring form 1, December 2003, I had total working experience of 28 weeks at

Dalla Dockyard. As an assistant command engineer at Dalla Dockyard, I managed
to repair and renovate various types of inland water vessels including passenger
and cargo vessels, Roll on Roll off ferry, tugs and assorted size of cargo barges
including both of shallow water way and delta area transportation. Repairing of
vessels include not only hull and superstructure repairing but also repairing of
underwater fitting such as rudder, propeller, shafting system and busing, carpenter
works, electrical work so on. At that time I also help to study about ship repairing
and shipyard management to all students who want to get information on that area.

3) After working up to the date of 30, July 2007. I was transferred to Fleet Ship
Engineer Division. As a fleet ship maintenance engineer, I managed to
maintenance marine type main engines, auxiliary engines, gearboxes, pumps,
propulsion units of various vessels during operation. It was important for vessels
to arrive destination and went back home in time. It was also important training of
drivers and engineers how to maintain and operate engine room machinery. Since
our ships went to not only Delta region but also upper Myanmar, we need to
maintain our ships to get our customers satisfaction and safety at their long trip.
I worked at Fleet Ship Engineer Division about 28 weeks starting form 31, July
2007 to 28, November 2009. After that I got promotion and was transferred again
to Dalla Dockyard as a deputy command engineer.

4) As a deputy command engineer at Dalla Dockyard, I got a lot of experience from

the projects given by JICA and cooperation of Japan and Myanmar engineers to
construct ship docking and launching cradles, concrete covered steel pontoons and
steel pontoons for river ferries at Dalla and Pansodan jetty. Before stating pilot
project of cradles JICA and Dalla Dockyard engineers coordinated to train
2

welders of dockyard and gave certificates to them. After completion of cradles

construction our dockyard engineers and workers got a lot of experience of steel
structure handling, marking, cutting, fabrication and erection and welding, testing
trial. After cradle construction, JICA and Dockyard started CO2 welding training
to engineer beginners and selected welders and then stared the project of block
construction of pontoons for the Dalla-Pansodan ferry jetty. Dockyard got good
experience of steel structure fabrication, erection of steel frames and block by
block construction. I also managed to repair, renovate and construct of new
vessels including passenger ferries. Passenger and cargo cum ferries and barges. I
always shared my experience and knowledge to young engineers and workers
what they want to know every where every time as much as I can.
