Effects of Pollution on Our Planet

For hundreds of years, people have misused the world’s natural resources. Humans
have cut down trees, polluted the sea and land with chemicals and wastes. Cars and
factories have polluted the air with toxic gases. Today, the pollution is changing the Earth’s
atmosphere. Our planet is getting hotter. In the future, some countries may end up being
inhabitable. Because of that, hundreds of animals might disappear. Therefore, the food
chain will experience a magnificent imbalance.
People all over the world must start working on finding effective solutions. We must teach
everyone how to “Go Green”. We keep hearing these two words, but do we really know
what they mean or how to go green? "Go Green" is a slogan to encourage people to
choose environmentally friendly behavior and live sustainably with less waste or damage
to the environment.
At home, we can recycle used paper, glass and plastic. We should also turn off the lights and
switch off the computers if they aren’t used. We can save water by having showers instead
of baths. If possible, we may walk or cycle to school. At many schools now, recycle bins are
used effectively. We could encourage the use of solar panels and wind power. Using either,
we can provide hot water and electricity through clean energy obtained from the sun or
wind. We can all change our habits to have a healthier planet and a brighter future.
