Expectations
1. Check your e-mail messages and Blackboard Announcements every day for important communications. Use email to contact your professor.
2. Review the Course Schedule frequently to ensure that you are aware of what topics will be covered in class and when Assignments are due.
3. Read assigned material prior to the class session when the material is scheduled to be discussed. Note that there will be unannounced quizzes to
test your preparedness for any course material scheduled to be covered on a given day. The score earned on such quizzes will be factored into the
Quizzes assessment category as noted in the Course Syllabus.
4. You should print out a copy of slides for each MIS textbook Chapter in the Handout format (three slides per page is recommended) from the
Course Documents > MIS folder in Blackboard in order to take detailed notes during class.
5. For lectures related to MS Excel you can also print out the PowerPoint slides in a Handout format as well as accompanying examples of specific
Excel functions and features from the Course Documents > Excel folder in Blackboard.
6. Download and save all files (instructions, templates, and other pre-work material, etc.) related to Homework and Lab Assignments on your PC or
USB thumb drive well in advance of the due date. Assignments will automatically close in Blackboard approximately 15 minutes after the due date
and time as published in the Course Schedule. Submit all your solution files into Blackboard under the Assignments > Submit Work Here folder.
7. Contact the I.T. Help Desk at 852-7997 to report any technical issues that you may encounter with Blackboard, GroupWise email, PC hardware and
software, etc. Technical issues will not be accepted as a valid excuse for submitting any assignment after the due date and time as published
in the Course Schedule.
