Domestic housekeeping – refers to the
housekeeping maintenance in a house
-It covers bedroom, kitchen, dining,
receiving area, ground and the surrounding
areas with in the house.
Institutional housekeeping – applies to
housekeeping maintenance commercial
lodging establishment like hotels, resorts,
Inn’s and appartel.

 Linens and laundry areas

Common problems in housekeeping services
o Low quality furnishing
o Broken lights
o Finger prints on mirror or window
o Not enough toiletries

Proper handling in different problem in
housekeeping services:
1. Listen to complaint
2. Isolate the guest if possible so that
another guest won’t overhear
3. Stay calm
4. Be aware of guest self esteem
5. Give your guest your undivided
attention
6. Take notes
7. Tell the guest what can be the best
done
8. Set an approximate time for
completion of corrective actions
