 This assessment consists of 6 questions. All questions do not carry
equal marks.
 The assessment must be submitted in a Word or PDF file on the
submission box in the moodle.
 The submission box will be linked to Turnitin, and similarity scores
WILL BE CHECKED and assessments indicating high similarity will be
penalized as per all other assessments throughout the semester.
 You can submit this any time within the specified time frame (2 hours),
DO NOT leave this till the final minute as when the submission closes
you won’t be able to submit your work for marking.
1. Answer the questions regarding the given topology. Router A and Router B have 26 PCs and 12
PCs connected to them, respectively. The IP address space given to you is 192.168.10.0/25, and
you should design an IP address plan as efficiently as possible. (10
marks)

I. Write Subnet Mask, Network ID, Broadcast ID and valid host address range for
Router B Subnet. (4 marks)

II. Write Subnet mask and Network ID for Router A-Router B Subnet. (2
marks)

III. On Router A and Router B, which two commands can you use to encrypt the
password of the Privileged Access Mode? (0.5 +0.5= 1 marks)

IV. Write exact commands to configure Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) Protocol at
Router A and Router B. (3 marks)
2. Compare Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) Protocol and Routing Information Protocol (RIPv2)
in any 5 different aspects. (10
marks)

3. Write the Static Network Address Translation (NAT) configuration commands for the
Gateway Router with respect to the figure given below

4. Answer the following considering the figure given below (6 marks)

i. How the same switch is carrying frames of different networks? Explain (2 marks)
ii. Why a router is needed in the network? (2 marks)
iii. Describe two ways to configure interface of router that will be used in the above
figure? (2 marks)
5. Briefly compare the following

6. Write the commands for the following policies to be enforced in the given network using
Access Control Lists (ACLs). (3 *2 = 6 marks)

 Deny only the host 172.16.30.2 from exiting the Sales network.
 Permit all other hosts on the Sales network to leave the 172.16.30.0/24 network.
