Starting Out

In this summary we will be reviewing chapter 1 of the met 1 class at ICPNA, I will be assessing
all the important points, also I will try to simplify what I’ve learn and study in this chapter.
Furthermore I will use my own words and do this summary through my own ideas.

In my first day of met 1 I learned how a classrooms work, how different could some classrooms
look from each other depending on the type of work the teacher is doing, also I’ve learn on the
importance of rapport and how being natural and creating the right atmosphere in class is a
huge plus in the process of students learning.

Also I’ve learn there are types of teaching like traditional teaching and entertainer teaching
and also deferent types of teachers like explainers, involvers and enablers. But right now what
spikes my interest is being an involver teacher who uses the experimental learning cycle. There
are also many methods of teaching in which every teacher usually picks one or two and makes
them their own.

Last I learned how to prepare a first lesson plus some hints and strategies on how to teach,
furthermore there are a correct number of steps of how to teach an activity on where if you
follow the whole class should be able to understand correctly.

In conclusion I believe on the importance of learning well how to teach and how to get all the
students to understand well everything, something I recall MR Zarate saying is that ´´if a
student ask you for instructions right after you’ve done explaining an activity is because you
are doing something wrong´´. Finally I strongly believe that I would have a real good
experience at ICPNA and I will learn how to be a teacher.
Reflection

As student that has come back to school after a few years, I am familiar
with the disadvantage of being away from school and how this could
affect my learning process especially because on how quick the class of
met 1 is supposed to go, but I will have to put and emphasis on the
importance of the experimental learning cycle and how this makes the
learning process more easy and fast.

I cannot complaint on how the class in being taught furthermore I have


good vibes with the class and how everyone gets involve, it’s basically
teaching learning and practicing the way that we are going to be teaching
students.

What I like about experimental learning cycle is that is an endless process


of learning where you always learn and perfect how you can teach, by
doing – recalling – reflecting – concluding – preparing and going all over
again. Also I like that it aids students understands a topic a way where you
don’t have read a whole book to learn, it helps them save time.

In conclusion I don’t disagree with any of the topics of chapter 1 I think


they are good ways of teaching and I will have the pleasure of learning it .
