THE HOLY SPIRIT IS PERSONAL, DISTINCT, & DIVINE
Above all, one cannot stress more emphatically the importance of coming
to know the Person of the Holy Spirit.

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS – PERSONAL

I. Force, Influence, Energy—No!
If you think the Holy Spirit is an it, you’ll want to use it. If you know the Holy Spirit is a Person, you’ll
say, “Holy Spirit, use me!”
– Benny Hinn

II. He Really is a Person

III. He is Referred to as a “Who”

But I will send you the Advocate–the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify
all about me. – John 15:26 (NLT)

But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on
His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.
He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you. – John 16:13-14 (NLT)

And Jesus Christ was revealed as God’s Son by his baptism in water and by shedding his blood on
the cross—not by water only, but by water and blood. And the Spirit, who is truth, confirms it with
his testimony. So we have these three witnesses— the Spirit, the water, and the blood—and all three
agree. – 1 John 5:6-8 (NLT)

IV. He Speaks
The Holy Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and walk along beside the carriage.”
– Acts 8:29 (NLT)

© 2020, David Hernandez Ministries. All rights reserved. – www.holyspiritschool.com

V. He has a Will
But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
– 1 Corinthians 12:11 (KJV)

VI. He has Feelings

And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
– Ephesians 4:30 (KJV)

VII. He Can Fellowship

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
– 2 Corinthians 13:14 (NLT)

Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the
Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with
each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.
– Philippians 2:1-2 (NLT)

VIII. Again, He is a Person

He has feelings; it’s possible that He can be hurt. He has a will; it’s possible that He can be resisted. He has a voice;
He can be ignored. He desires fellowship; He can be rejected. He is a Person; He can be disrespected.
– David Diga Hernandez

IX. Why Then, Do we Refer to Him as “THE Holy Spirit”?

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the
Holy Spirit. – Matthew 28:19 (NLT)

Using the word ‘the’ before a title does not take away from the personal nature of the one we’re
describing.

For example, the…teacher, police officer, pilot.

THE PERSON OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS – DISTINCT

I. He is Not the Father, or the Son
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
– 2 Corinthians 13:14 (NLT)

After his baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God
descending like a dove and settling on him. – Matthew 3:16 (NLT)

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the
Holy Spirit. – Matthew 28:19 (NLT)

II. We Accept the Divinity of the Father and the Son Without Question
No true believer denies that the Father is divine. No true believer denies that the Son is divine. Yet when I say that
the Holy Spirit is God, many believers cringe in discomfort.

– David Diga Hernandez

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS – DIVINE

I. The Holy Spirit is Referred to as God – “The Lord”
Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
– 2 Corinthians 3:17 (KJV)

Also, look very closely here at Isaiah:

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? “Then said I, “Here am
I; send me.” And he said, “Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but
perceive not.” – Isaiah 6:8-9 (KJV)

And after they had argued back and forth among themselves, they left with this final word from Paul:

© 2020, David Hernandez Ministries. All rights reserved. – www.holyspiritschool.com

The Holy Spirit was right when he said to your ancestors through Isaiah the prophet, “Go and say to this people:
When you hear what I say, you will not understand. When you see what I do, you will not comprehend.”
– Acts 28:25-26 (NLT)

II. The Holy Spirit is One with Christ

Then coming to the borders of Mysia, they headed north for the province of Bithynia, but again the Spirit of Jesus did not
allow them to go there. – Acts 16:7 (NLT)

III. The Holy Spirit is Called the “Spirit of God”

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the
deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. – Genesis 1:1-2 (NLT)

But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s
deep secrets. No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s
thoughts except God’s own Spirit. – 1 Corinthians 2:10-11 (NLT)

IV. The Holy Spirit is Omniscient

But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s
deep secrets. No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s
thoughts except God’s own Spirit. And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the
wonderful things God has freely given us.– 1 Corinthians 2:10-12 (NLT)

V. The Holy Spirit is Omnipotent

The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the
baby to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God.” – Luke 1:35 (NLT)

VI. The Holy Spirit is Omnipresent

I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! – Psalm 139:7 (NLT)

© 2020, David Hernandez Ministries. All rights reserved. – www.holyspiritschool.com

THE PERSON OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

VII. So, the Holy Spirit is Personal, Distinct from the Father and Son, & Divine

VIII. By the Way, That’s the Basis of the Doctrine of the Trinity.

The truth that Each are distinct from one another yet equally divine and one God, is the basis of the Trinity.
– David Diga Hernandez

In my opinion, this verse from Hebrews is the most persuasive verse concerning the Trinity:

Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can
worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect
sacrifice for our sins. – Hebrews 9:14 (NLT)

CONCLUSION
I. The Holy Spirit is a Person

II. The Holy Spirit is God

III. We should not be afraid to pursue Him

THE NATURE AND WAYS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
In this session we explore the thrilling nature of the Holy Spirit!

THE HOLY SPIRIT’S NATURE IS REVEALED IN THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

What are the fruits of the Holy Spirit? What is the Holy Spirit really like?

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
– Galatians 5:22-23 (NLT)

• That’s what the Holy Spirit produces in our lives, but you cannot give what you do not have.

• The fruit of the Spirit reflects the nature of the Spirit—they tell us about Who He is.

I. He’s Loving
You’ve heard it said that Jesus loves you and that the Father loves you, but the Spirit loves you too.

II. He’s Joyful

• He is joyful, not mean and stoic.

• He has a sense of humor—I’m sure of it.

• Never a dull moment—an adventure with the Spirit.

© 2020, David Hernandez Ministries. All rights reserved. – www.holyspiritschool.com

• I think of when Saul was pursuing David:

Word came to Saul: “David is in Naioth at Ramah”; so he sent men to capture him. But when they saw a
group of prophets proph- esying, with Samuel standing there as their leader, the Spirit of God came on
Saul’s men, and they also prophesied. Saul was told about it, and he sent more men, and they prophesied
too. Saul sent men a third time, and they also prophesied. Finally, he himself left for Ramah and went to
the great cistern at Seku. And he asked, “Where are Samuel and David?” “Over in Naioth at Ramah,”
they said. So Saul went to Naioth at Ramah. But the Spirit of God came even on him, and he walked along
prophesying until he came to Naioth. – 1 Samuel 19:19-23 (NIV)

III. He’s Peaceful

• You’ll never sense the Holy Spirit panic—He’s always at perfect peace.

• Also, He’s not chaotic—He’s orderly.

• Sure, He’s disruptive to our agenda, but that doesn’t mean He doesn’t have an agenda of His own.

• He often gets a bad reputation—but He is Classy, not Chaotic.

IV. He’s Patient

• He doesn’t abandon us when we fail.

And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever.
– John 14:16 (KJV)

• Believers often approach me in fear wondering if the Holy Spirit has left them because of some sinful
deed or wicked thought.

• He remains—otherwise, who is there to convict and empower you to resist sin.

THE NATURE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

V. He’s Kind
• He doesn’t tear you down (that’s not His nature).

• People often mistake the enemy’s accusation or their own self-hatred for the Spirit.

VI. He’s Good

You sent Your good Spirit to instruct them, and You did not stop giving them manna from heaven or water
for their thirst. – Nehemiah 9:20 (NLT)

There is nothing defiled about the nature of the Holy Spirit. He is divine. He is pure. He is not just good; He
is goodness itself. His every action and aspect arises from the intrinsic goodness of God.
– David Diga Hernandez

VII. He’s Faithful

• He can be counted on to fulfill His tasks:

But when the Father sends the Advocate as My representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—He will teach you
everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. – John 14:26 (NLT)

• He reminds us of the things of God.

• He faithfully reveals the truth.

• As we go about our day, He calls us to prayer and devotion.

• In the heat of the moments where the flesh might arise, He works within the split second before we
react, and He reminds us to respond in the spirit.

© 2020, David Hernandez Ministries. All rights reserved. – www.holyspiritschool.com

• How often do we try to do it our own way?

O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the Lord straitened? are these His doings? do not my
words do good to him that walketh uprightly? – Micah 2:7 (KJV)

– He is faithfully confrontational.

– He is not pushy but He is persuasive.

– He doesn’t speak loudly but He speaks consistently, faithfully.

– Once he speaks, it’s on you.

– There is no room to bargain, reason, or justify.

– He holds His ground.

The Holy Spirit’s love is stronger than anyone’s pride. He is more persistent than we are stubborn. He faithfully
pursues us. The Holy Spirit doesn’t take “no” for an answer, at least not from those who belong to Him. You
can’t convince Him to do it your way. Believe me, He’s stronger than you, more patient than you, and more
committed than you. You might as well just do it His way.
– David Diga Hernandez

VIII. He’s in Control

• Self-control is a fruit of the Spirit; He is perfectly in control.

• He knows what He’s doing.

IX. He’s Gentle

• People often miss His voice.

• He doesn’t often shout, He whispers—you have to be quiet and attentive to hear Him.

© 2020, David Hernandez Ministries. All rights reserved. – www.holyspiritschool.com

THE NATURE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

• He won’t force His way; He must be welcomed, He must be listened to.

• Think of Samson; it was the Holy Spirit who gave Samson His strength:

Then she cried out, “Samson! The Philistines have come to capture you!” When he woke up, he thought, “I will
do as before and shake myself free.” But he didn’t realize the Lord had left him.
–Judges 16:20

• The Holy Spirit does not leave the believer, but this tells us something of His gentle nature.

• The Holy Spirit can be ignored and overlooked. What a frightening thought for those who love Him.

• In fact, some become so dependent on human effort that, were the Holy Spirit to ever cease working in
their life or ministry, they would never notice.

The Holy Spirit arrives as a rushing wind, but He leaves as a whispered breath. He has an announced arrival but a
discreet departure. His coming draws attention; His leaving often goes unnoticed.

THE HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWERS CHIRSTLIKENESS
What was it that caused the early Church to rise and the martyrs to lay down their lives?
What power was at work in Christ and His followers? The power of the Holy Spirit!

THE HOLY SPIRIT’S POWER WAS ACTIVE IN THE LIFE OF JESUS

I. Jesus was Conceived in Power, by the Holy Spirit
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph,
before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. (Matthew 1:18, KJV)

• Incomprehensible God— Eternity Himself, placed in a physical body.

• The Holy Spirit’s work was so detailed that Jesus said,

…he that hath seen me hath seen the Father… – John 14:9 (KJV)

• The Scripture declares,

For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. – Colossians 2:9 (KJV)

• That’s the work of the Holy Spirit.

• The mystery of the incarnation—Truly God, Truly Man.

Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he
gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human
being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a
criminal’s death on a cross. – Philippians 2:6-8 (NLT)

• Man in nature, God in identity.

• He gave up that power.

© 2020, David Hernandez Ministries. All rights reserved. – www.holyspiritschool.com

• You can’t kill God, yet Jesus died.

• God is complete, yet Jesus grew.

Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people.
– Luke 2:52 (NLT)

• No doubt, Jesus chose to strip Himself of certain divine privileges.

• So how did Jesus do His work?

II. Jesus Received His Power from the Holy Spirit

• The Holy Spirit rested on Jesus at the beginning of His ministry.

After His baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and He saw the Spirit of God
descending like a dove and settling on Him – Matthew 3:16 (NLT)

• Also, Isaiah the prophet tells of the Holy Spirit resting on Jesus.

Then a shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse, And a branch from his roots will bear fruit. The Spirit of the
LORD will rest on Him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and strength, The spirit
of knowledge and the fear of the LORD. – Isaiah 11:1-2 (NLT)

• The Holy Spirit enabled Jesus to do many things.

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is upon me, for the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor.
He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will
be freed. – Isaiah 61:1 (NLT)

• Jesus cast out demons by the Holy Spirit.

But if I am casting out demons by the Spirit of God, then the Kingdom of God has arrived among you.
– Matthew 12:28 (NLT)

© 2020, David Hernandez Ministries. All rights reserved. – www.holyspiritschool.com

THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

• Jesus healed the sick by the power of the Holy Spirit.

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and
healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. – Acts 10:38 (KJV)

• Jesus preached by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is upon me, for the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor.
He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will
be freed. – Isaiah 61:1 (NLT)

• Jesus was even resurrected by the power of the Holy Spirit.

…and he was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit.
He is Jesus Christ our Lord. – Romans 1:4 (NLT)

The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. – Romans 8:11 (NLT)

While Jesus was here on earth, he offered prayers and pleadings, with a loud cry and tears, to the one who
could rescue him from death. And God heard his prayers because of his deep reverence for God.
– Hebrews 5:7 (NLT)

– Think about the trust Jesus placed in the Holy Spirit.

III. Jesus has Given You His Power

• The same power that rested on Jesus rests on you.

• We need to be more supernaturally-minded; we think too naturally.

Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have
received! – Matthew 10:8 (NLT)

Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and
make disciples of all the nations,b baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

© 2020, David Hernandez Ministries. All rights reserved. – www.holyspiritschool.com

Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always,
even to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:18-20 (NLT)

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new
tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands
on the sick, and they shall recover. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven,
and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them,
and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. – Mark 16:17-20 (KJV)

• Even greater works:

“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works,
because I am going to be with the Father.” – John 14:12 (NLT)

But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will
send him to you. – John 16:7 (NLT)

• The ministry of the Holy Spirit was never meant to finish with Jesus.

• The Word became flesh that flesh might become the Word!

THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in
you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he
will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living
within you.

THE HOLY SPIRIT’S MINISTRY CONTINUES WITH YOU
When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth…He will bring me
glory by telling you whatever he receives from me. – John 16:13-14 (NLT)

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS HEAVEN’S GREATEST EVANGELIST

I. The Greatest Evangelist Ever!
But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go
away, then I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of
God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment. The world’s sin is that it refuses to believe in me.
Righteousness is available because I go to the Father, and you will see me no more. Judgment will
come because the ruler of this world has already been judged. – John 16:7-11 (NLT)

• So much of “evangelism” today is done with emotional pleading and pressure tactics.

• Sure we should persuasively preach the gospel. (Many times, Paul reasoned with
unbelievers.)

• Carnal efforts cannot produce spiritual results.

• Ultimately, it is the Holy Spirit who gives you the words.

And when you are brought to trial in the synagogues and before rulers and authorities, don’t
worry about how to defend yourself or what to say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that
time what needs to be said. – Luke 12:11-12 (NLT)

II. Masterful Teacher

He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for
him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in
you. – John 14:17 ( NLT)
© 2020, David Hernandez Ministries. All rights reserved. – www.holyspiritschool.com
But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything
and will remind you of everything I have told you. – John 14:26 (NLT)

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what
he has heard. He will tell you about the future. He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me.
15All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will tell you whatever he receives from me.’
– John 16:13-15 (NLT)

But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true.
For the Spirit[b] teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he
has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ. – 1 John 2:27 (NLT)

• I struggled to understand the Word until I befriended the Holy Spirit,

• He doesn’t just help you process the information; He helps you to appreciate the revelation.

• Information informs. Revelation transforms.

• He’s right beside youand ready to teach you!

III. Ever-Present Comforter

If you love me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will
never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking
for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you. No, I
will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you. – John 14:15-18 (NLT)

• He abides with you in times of trouble and heartache

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
– Psalm 34:18 (NLT)

• How is He near? By the Holy Ghost!

THE MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

IV. Mighty Intercessor (Advocate / Paraklete)

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the
Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts
knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.
– Romans 8:26-27 (LT)

• The holy Spirit will lay hands on you Himself.

• The Holy Spirit knows you like no other does and can pray for you like no other can.

V. The One Who Makes Jesus Real

• He makes Jesus real to you—vivifies the Savior.

“But I will send you the Advocate–the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all
about me.” – John 15:26 (NLT)

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell
you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he
receives from me. All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will tell you whatever
he receives from me.’ – John 16:13-15 (NLT)

• The Holy Spirit is God everywhere, Jesus in you—Jesus with you!

For no single person is more passionate about Jesus than the Holy Spirit. He will reveal Christ with such
clarity that the reality of the Savior will grow with vivid intensity. He makes Jesus more real and draws you
closer to God than you ever imagined possible. – David Diga Hernandez (Carriers of the Glory, 2016)

VI. He does so much

• He helps us pray (Zechariah 12:10).

• He’s our teacher (John 14:26).

© 2020, David Hernandez Ministries. All rights reserved. – www.holyspiritschool.com

• He’s our power for holiness (Galatians 5:16).

• He helps us to worship (John 4:24).

• He convinces us of our sonship (Romans 8:15).

• He performs the miraculous through us (Galatians 3:5)

• He gives you faith (2 Corinthians 4:13).

• He gives you boldness (Acts 2).

RECEIVING THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit has much to offer, but sadly, many leave the reserves of the Spirit’s
power untapped and dormant. We need His power unfettered in our lives!

THE NATURE OF MANKIND

Before you can understand how the baptism with the Spirit works, you must understand the nature
of man.

I. Mankind consists in three, not a Trinity like God

• Mankind has three parts, but he is not a Trinity like God.

Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul
and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.
– 1 Thessalonians 5:23 (NLT)

II. Body
• Mankind possesses an “earth suit.”

• Your body interacts with the world around you—it is not inherently evil.

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have
of God, and ye are not your own? – 1 Corinthians 6:19 (KJV)

• Flesh (body) vs. Flesh (sin nature)—very subtle differences.

• When you try to connect with God from this realm, it’s religion.

© 2020, David Hernandez Ministries. All rights reserved. – www.holyspiritschool.com

III. Soul
• This is the realm of decision.

• The Soul consists of the Mind, Will, Emotions, and Personality—it is “Neutral Ground.”

• When you try to connect with God from this realm, it’s emotional or even sometimes “New Age.”

Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can
destroy both soul and body in hell. – Matthew 10:28 (NLT)

• Notice the soul is missing?

• Those who are alive in spirit are not destroyed in hell.

• Before you were saved, your spirit was dead.

IV. Spirit
• Your connection with God and your source of identity.

• This is who you are—the very depth of your being.

• This is where fellowship with the Holy Spirit occurs:

No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love
him.” But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and
shows us God’s deep secrets. No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no
one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s
spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.

When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak
words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths. But people who aren’t
spiritualg can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand

THE BAPTISM WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT

it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means. Those who are spiritual can
evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others. For, “Who can know the Lord’s
thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of
Christ. – 1 Corinthians 2:9-16 (NLT)

• The depths of God are known by the Spirit.

• Imagine that—all that may be known of God, the Holy Spirit knows.

• We have that mind—The Spirit is the mind of Christ.

– You already know God

– You already have power
– You already have revelation

• In the Spirit, you are already one with God

But the person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him. – 1 Corinthians 6:17 (NLT)

Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of Thy waterspouts: all Thy waves and Thy billows are gone over me.
– Psalm 42:7 (KJV)

• So, all that God has for you is already yours!

• More power? More love? More peace?

• It’s not a matter of you getting more of the Holy Spirit—He’s all in—it’s a matter of the Holy Spirit
getting more of you.

• That’s what the baptism with the Holy Spirit is.

• This naturally raises the question about when He is received.

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS RECEIVED AT SALVATION
I. Because Salvation is a Work of the Spirit, He Must Be Received at Salvation.
READ: Romans 8:9; 14-16 & Ephesians 1:13-14

• You need the Holy Spirit to be a child of God.

• Thus, you receive the Holy Spirit at salvation.

• Why then must He be received a second time? And is this even Biblical? Yes, it is.

II. Examples of the Second Experience

• John 20:22 (Jesus breathes) vs. Acts 2 (They wait)

• After Saul’s conversion: Acts 9:17 (brother Saul)

• The new believers receive the Holy Spirit (Acts 8:14-17)

• The believers who didn’t even hear about the Holy Spirit (Acts 19:1-5)

• How can this be?

• The Holy Spirit upon you and within you are two different realities .

III. What is the Baptism with the Spirit?

• Baptism means to be overcome, submerged, overwhelmed

• My favorite description: immersion - within and without

He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake
he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that
Jesus was not yet glorified.)– John 7:38-39 (NLT)

THE BAPTISM WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT

He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, “From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.” But
this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given,
because Jesus was not yet glorified. – John 7:38-39 (NASB)

• Remember, the Spirit and all He offers already dwells within you

• The baptism with the spirit is a flood—from the inside out

• Out of your INNER man

• At salvation you receive Him. At baptism, you release Him.

• The waters that reside within you flood outwardly and then rest upon you.

• God changes us from the inside out, the enemy affects us from the outside in.

• The key is living from our inner source, not our outward experience.

Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit –
Ephesians 5:18 (NLT)

• The phrase “be filled” in that verse is speaking of a continual filling

• The baptism with the Spirit is both a state of being and an experience

• Both a well and a river.

THE KEY IS SURRENDER

The Baptism with the Holy Spirit is not rain from above; it’s a river from within - let the river flow!
– David Diga Hernandez.

• When that river begins to flow, a Heavenly language is manifested.

EXPRESSIONS, MISCONCEPTIONS & OBSTACLES OF TONGUES
Learn to minister the truth, dispel common myths, and help others understand and
recieve this powerful expression of the Holy Spirit.

THE THREE EXPRESSIONS OF THE GIFT

The Scripture, though it does not use the terms I use, clearly shows three different functions for the gift
of tongues.

I. The Proof Tongue

Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that
every man heard them speak in his own language. – Acts 2:6

• All the believers were gathered on Pentecost, the Holy Spirit moved

• What was it?

– They spoke in actual languages.

– Or, they were heard speaking in an unknown language.

• Every man heard THEM (collectively)—thus, they could not have been speaking in more
than one language at once.

• Possibly, each hearer supernaturally heard their own language.

• In fact, it’s possible some heard no language, which would explain why they thought the
believers were drunk.

But others in the crowd ridiculed them, saying, “They’re just drunk, that’s all!”. – Acts 2:13

• Either way, ONE of the expressions of the gift is the supernatural ability to speak in
unknown earthly dialects, or to be heard speaking in an unknown language.
© 2020, David Hernandez Ministries. All rights reserved. – www.holyspiritschool.com
• This is a sign to unbelievers.

So you see that speaking in tongues is a sign, not for believers, but for unbelievers.
– 1 Corinthians 14:22

II. The Prophetic Tongue

How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue,
hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. If any man speak in an unknown
tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret. But if there be no
interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
– 1 Corinthians 14:26-28

• What is it? It’s a tongue spoken in a public church assembly, and meant to be prophetically
interpreted.

• What is the purpose? “Let all things be done unto edifying”—in an orderly manner.

• If there is no interpreter, it’s not always the speaker who is to blame for the “disorder.”

• In some instances, the speaker and interpreter are the same person.

III. The Personal Tongue

Let love be your highest goal! But you should also desire the special abilities the Spirit gives—especially the ability
to prophesy. For if you have the ability to speak in tongues, you will be talking only to God, since people won’t
be able to understand you. You will be speaking by the power of the Spirit, but it will all be mysterious. But one
who prophesies strengthens others, encourages them, and comforts them. A person who speaks in tongues is
strengthened personally, but one who speaks a word of prophecy strengthens the entire church.
– 1 Corinthians 14:1-4

i. First off, there are obvious distinctions:

© 2020, David Hernandez Ministries. All rights reserved. – www.holyspiritschool.com

THE LANGUAGE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

• No man understands (meaning this is not an earthly language)

• “Edifieth himself”

• The only spiritual gift used for self-edification

ii. What is it, then?

• It’s communication from the Spirit.

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray
for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.
– Romans 8:26

• That verse is not about speaking in tongues, but it is about something deeper.

• The Holy Spirit prays for you.

For if I pray in tongues, my spirit is praying, but I don’t understand what I am saying.
– 1 Corinthians 14:14

• Remember that we are one with the Spirit. So, when we are praying in tongues, we are praying the
Spirit’s prayers over ourselves—He’s praying for us, through us!

• We’re praying FROM the Spirit!

• It’s as if the Holy Spirit is saying, “I’ll pray for you myself if only you give me a mouth.”

– It really does take faith to pray in tongues.

– The language of the Spirit is the language of faith and surrender.
– When you pray with your understanding, you attach meanings to your words.
– When you pray in tongues, you leave that up to the Holy Spirit.
– You offer Him surrendered syllables and sounds and, in faith, trust that He’ll attach meaning.

© 2020, David Hernandez Ministries. All rights reserved. – www.holyspiritschool.com

– When you communicate with God in tongues, you’re communicating on His level.
– You can have the Holy Spirit and not pray in tongues.
– You can be saved, and not pray in tongues.
– But why would you want any less than all the Holy Spirit offers?
– Not a charismatic thing—it’s for every believer.

• God wants you to experience this beautiful gift!

THREE MAJOR MISCONCEPTIONS

I. Didn’t Paul say that the gift wasn’t for every believer?
Are we all apostles? Are we all prophets? Are we all teachers? Do we all have the power to do miracles? Do we all have the
gift of healing? Do we all have the ability to speak in unknown languages? Do we all have the ability to interpret unknown
languages? Of course not! – 1 Corinthians 12:29-30

• 1 Corinthians 12 is talking about the gifts in the context of the body of Christ.

• Every gift listed is a gift that is to be used in Christian community—they affect others.

• For example, the gift of healing in 1 Corinthians 12 is different than the operation of healing in the context of
evangelism in Mark 16.

• The gift of tongues that Paul talks about in 1 Corinthians 12 is different from the one used for self-edification
mentioned in 1 Corinthians 14 .

• One is for the edification others, the other is for the edification of self.

• Also, on the day of Pentecost, Peter tells us that the promise of the father is:

– For “…all who have been called...” (Acts 2:39)

– Described as “just as you see and hear today.” (Acts 2:33)

• The self-edifying gift is for you.

THE LANGUAGE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

II. Didn’t Paul discourage people from praying in tongues?

Let love be your highest goal! But you should also desire the special abilities the Spirit gives—especially the ability
to prophesy. For if you have the ability to speak in tongues, you will be talking only to God, since people won’t
be able to understand you. You will be speaking by the power of the Spirit, but it will all be mysterious. But one
who prophesies strengthens others, encourages them, and comforts them. A person who speaks in tongues is
strengthened personally, but one who speaks a word of prophecy strengthens the entire church.
– 1 Corinthians 14:1-4

• Paul taught that prophecy was better, not that speaking tongues was bad.

• He’s comparing the gifts, not condemning the gift of speaking in tongues.

See Also: 1 Corinthians 14:5, 14:18; 14:39

III. Aren’t we supposed to pray in tongues privately?

• The misunderstood verse:

But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
– 1 Corinthians 14:26-28)

• Remember, Paul is talking about the public expression of the gift.

• He’s regulating the “prophetic” expression of the gift of tongues.

• Here are examples of the believers praying in tongues all together.

All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
– Acts 2:4

When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and
prophesied. – Acts 19:6

• Those verses mention nothing of interpretation.

OBSTACLES TO RECEIVING THE GIFT OF TONGUES
OBSTACLE 1: Over-Analysis
• Some just assess the moment and become distracted with many questions and objections.

OBSTACLE 2: Pride
• What if I look foolish?

OBSTACLE 3: Fear
• What if it’s just me?

• What if it’s demonic?

Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give
him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your
Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? – Matthew 7:9-11

OBSTACLE 4: Inaction
• Some wait for the Holy Spirit to force them.

ACTIVATE THE GIFT

• Like a car engine—just turn the key and let the engine take over.

• It’s in your control (look at Paul’s writings).

• Give Him sounds; He’ll make them prayers.

THREE KEYS TO HEARING THE VOICE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
The great lie is that it’s difficult to hear the voice of God. You can hear His voice,
and be equipped with practical keys to do so—today!

THE IMPORTANCE OF HIS VOICE

I. The Noise
• So many opinions, all of them convincing:

– Family speaks.
– Satan speaks.
– Emotions speak.
– The world speaks.
– False prophets speak.

II. The Consequences of Not Hearing His Voice

• Spiritual deafness: Samson

• Perhaps one of the most frightening verses:

Then she cried out, “Samson! The Philistines have come to capture you!” When he woke up, he
thought, “I will do as before and shake myself free.” But he didn’t realize the Lord had left him.
– Judges 16:20

• The Sin of Presumption: Nathan

When King David was settled in his palace and the Lord had given him rest from all the
surrounding enemies, the king summoned Nathan the prophet. “Look,” David said, “I am living
in a beautiful cedar palace, but the Ark of God is out there in a tent!” Nathan replied to the king,
© 2020, David Hernandez Ministries. All rights reserved. – www.holyspiritschool.com
“Go ahead and do whatever you have in mind, for the Lord is with you.” But that same night the Lord said
to Nathan, “Go and tell my servant David, ‘This is what the Lord has declared: Are you the one to build a
house for me to live in? – 2 Samuel 7:1-5 (NLT)

• The Trap of Tradition: Moses

Then Moses cried out to the Lord, “What should I do with these people? They are ready to stone me!” The
Lord said to Moses, “Walk out in front of the people. Take your staff, the one you used when you struck
the water of the Nile, and call some of the elders of Israel to join you. I will stand before you on the rock at
Mount Sinai. Strike the rock, and water will come gushing out. Then the people will be able to drink.” So
Moses struck the rock as he was told, and water gushed out as the elders looked on.
– Exodus 17:4-6

• What a wonderful miracle!

• But Moses looked to that miracle as his guide in a similar situation:

…and the Lord said to Moses, “You and Aaron must take the staff and assemble the entire community. As
the people watch, speak to the rock over there, and it will pour out its water. You will provide enough water
from the rock to satisfy the whole community and their livestock.” So Moses did as he was told. He took the
staff from the place where it was kept before the Lord. Then he and Aaron summoned the people to come and
gather at the rock. “Listen, you rebels!” he shouted. “Must we bring you water from this rock?” Then Moses
raised his hand and struck the rock twice with the staff, and water gushed out. So the entire community and
their livestock drank their fill. But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not trust me enough to
demonstrate my holiness to the people of Israel, you will not lead them into the land I am giving them!”
– Numbers 20:7-12

– He chose system over spirit, ritual over revelation.

– Power is not found in a system but in obedience.
– Sacrificed the future for the familiar.

THE VOICE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

III. The Benefits to Hearing His Voice

So Jesus explained, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father
doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does. – John 5:19

• Jesus walked in perfect obedience to the voice of God, down to the mili-second.

– A peaceful, rested flow

– Clarity
– Purpose
– Effectiveness (Actual results that count for eternity)

• The good news is that you can hear the Lord with perfect clarity.

IV. Hearing vs. Recognizing

The greatest truth I could share with you concerning the voice of God is that you already hear Him.

Meanwhile, the boy Samuel served the Lord by assisting Eli. Now in those days messages from the Lord
were very rare, and visions were quite uncommon. One night Eli, who was almost blind by now, had gone
to bed. The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was sleeping in the Tabernacle[a] near the Ark
of God. Suddenly the Lord called out, “Samuel!” “Yes?” Samuel replied. “What is it?” He got up and ran to
Eli. “Here I am. Did you call me?” “I didn’t call you,” Eli replied. “Go back to bed.” So he did. Then the Lord
called out again, “Samuel!” Again Samuel got up and went to Eli. “Here I am. Did you call me?” “I didn’t
call you, my son,” Eli said. “Go back to bed.” Samuel did not yet know the Lord because he had never had a
message from the Lord before.

So the Lord called a third time, and once more Samuel got up and went to Eli. “Here I am. Did you call
me?” Then Eli realized it was the Lord who was calling the boy. So he said to Samuel, “Go and lie down
again, and if someone calls again, say, ‘Speak, Lord, your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went back
to bed. And the Lord came and called as before, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel replied, “Speak, your
servant is listening.” – 1 Samuel 3:1-10

• Samuel heard God but didn’t recognize Him.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. – John 10:27

• The Three Voices: The Satanic, The Secular, The Spirit

– Are you a sheep?

– People complicate it; it’s simple.

THREE KEYS TO HEARING THE VOICE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

KEY #1 – Silence and Stillness
• Outer distraction and discipline:

But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your
Father, who sees everything, will reward you. – Matthew 6:6

• Inner chaos & peace:

Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.
– Psalm 46:10

• So much going on in our minds.

• Silence and Stillness quiet outer and inner distraction.

KEY #2 – The Word

• The Word is key to hearing His voice.

But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you
everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. – John 14:26

© 2020, David Hernandez Ministries. All rights reserved. – www.holyspiritschool.com

THE VOICE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

• The word familiarizes you with His voice.

KEY #3 – Obedience
The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. – Psalm 37:23

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. – Proverbs 3:6

• Faithfulness is progressive.

• Do the difficult thing.

• God will speak and not speak again until you’ve obeyed what He’s already spoken.

• That’s why some believers can’t pray anymore—they are uncomfortable with what they know God
is saying.

AN EXPOSITORY EXAMINATION OF 1 CORINTHIANS 12

I. Avoiding Paganism – 1 Corinthians 12:1-3
• Witchcraft, sorcery, paganism:

• There was an ancient term that meant “to live like a Corinthian” which was used to
described one who lived immorally.

• So, Paul did not want the Corinthians to confuse God’s power for their former pagan power.

• What’s the major difference between sorcery and the gifts? “Jesus is Lord!”

• Not methodology, not style, not power—but message.

• If the Church understood this, there would be a greater level of unity.

• This, however, is also why you can’t judge someone based upon them being used.

Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those
who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me,
‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many
miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break
God’s laws.’ – Matthew 7:21-23 (NLT)

– Jesus said that we will know people by their fruits, not their gifts.
– Not everyone who demonstrates power is demonic, and not everyone who
demonstrates power is godly.

© 2020, David Hernandez Ministries. All rights reserved. – www.holyspiritschool.com

– Don’t judge others based upon their gifts—judge them by what they preach and how they live.

II. The Source of the Gift – 1 Corinthians 12:4-6

• Father, Son, & Holy Spirit.

• They decided upon the gifts you would receive.

• What the Trinity does in unity can never be undone. This is why the Bible says…

For God’s gifts and his call can never be withdrawn. – Romans 11:29 (NLT)

III. The Gifts are for Service, Not Status – 1 Corinthians 12:7
• The gift is not a reward, it’s a responsibility.

• Not for show, for service.

• Not to lift your name but to lift your brothers and sisters.

III. The Gifts Work most powerfully in unity – 1 Corinthians 12:12-28

• It’s no mistake that Paul mentions the Trinity while introducing the topic of the spiritual gift.

• Trinity = Tri-unity

• They are the greatest example of unity and honor.

• We all serve a function.

• We cannot criticize others just because they don’t serve with the same gift as us.

• We need everyone doing what they do.

© 2020, David Hernandez Ministries. All rights reserved. – www.holyspiritschool.com

THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

• Don’t discount another believer simply because they don’t do things like you do.

• Interesting that Paul then goes on to talk about love (1 Corinthians 13)

THE VARIOUS GIFTS

I. Leadership Gifts
Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the
pastors and teachers. (Ephesians 4:11, NLT)

• Apostle

– “One sent on a mission.”

– The practice: They established churches and ministries prolifically.
– They began new works: Paul was an apostle to the gentiles.
– The apostles multiplied disciples.
– Apostles are disciple makers.
– I believe apostles are church planters.

• Prophet

– I mean a true prophet, not cold readers and guessers.

– Prophets are given the oracles of God Can hear from God concerning the future.
– They receive information that should not be known to them without divine communication.
• Personal Prophecy • National Prophecy
• Corporate Prophecy • Global Prophecy
• Regional Prophecy

© 2020, David Hernandez Ministries. All rights reserved. – www.holyspiritschool.com

• Evangelist

– I’m an evangelist.
– An evangelist is not just a minister who goes from church to church—an evangelist is a soul winner.
– Philip was an evangelist:
But the believers who were scattered preached the Good News about Jesus wherever they went. Philip, for
example, went to the city of Samaria and told the people there about the Messiah. Crowds listened intently
to Philip because they were eager to hear his message and see the miraculous signs he did.
– Acts 8:4-6 (NLT)
– Passionate about souls
• We have conferences with power for the believer, but few services with truth for the lost.
• We have evangelism and weirdness.
• We have evangelism and powerlessness.
• Rarely do we see evangelism with true power.

• Pastor

– Paul told the Ephesian elders

So guard yourselves and God’s people. Feed and shepherd God’s flock—his church, purchased with his
own blood—over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as leaders.
– Acts 20:28 (NLT)

Obey your spiritual leaders, and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they are
accountable to God. Give them reason to do this with joy and not with sorrow. That would certainly not be
for your benefit. – Hebrews 13:17

– Pastors are to guide God’s people, not govern them.

© 2020, David Hernandez Ministries. All rights reserved. – www.holyspiritschool.com

THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

• Teacher

If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. – Romans 12:7

– Some people are gifted at making sense of the Word of God - that’s by the Spirit, for He is the
ultimate teacher.

Dear brothers and sisters, not many of you should become teachers in the church, for we who teach
will be judged more strictly. – James 3:1

– The consequences for false teaching is severe—make sure you know the Word!

II. Service Gifts

• Exhortation (Romans 12:8)

• Giving (Romans 12:8)

• Leadership (Romans 12:8; 1 Corinthians 12:28)

• Service (Romans 12:7)

• Administration / Helps (1 Corinthians 12:28)

III. Power Gifts

• Prophecy (Romans 12:6; 1 Corinthians 12:10)

• Discernment (1 Corinthians 12:10)

• Healing (1 Corinthians 12:10)

• Miracles (1 Corinthians 12:10)

© 2020, David Hernandez Ministries. All rights reserved. – www.holyspiritschool.com

• Word of Knowledge (1 Corinthians 12:8)

• Word of Wisdom (1 Corinthians 12:8)

• Faith (1 Corinthians 12:9)

• Tongues (1 Corinthians 12:10)

• Tongues Interpretation (1 Corinthians 12:10)

IV. Truths About the Gifts

THE FRIENDSHIP OF THE
H O LY S P I R I T

CULT IVAT ING YOUR REL AT ION SHIP

WIT H T HE HOLY SPIRIT

What a profound privilege and a wonderful joy that you can with
confidence say: “I am a friend of the Holy Spirit.”

Faithfully, He abides with us, patiently enduring even our worst

mistakes and lovingly tending to our greatest needs. He hurts when
you weep, rejoices when you rejoice, and fills even the seemingly
mundane moments of life with His vitality and wonder. His presence
marks you. His power sustains you. He helps you to pray powerfully,
evangelize boldly, live righteously, worship truly, believe extrava-
gantly, serve joyfully, forgive supernaturally, and love divinely.

09
We need only turn away from the noise to focus on His presence.
We need only to surrender to His leading. He is near to you now—
looking at you and listening.

Welcome your dear Friend, the Precious Holy Spirit.

STATEMENT
OF FAITH

THE EXCLUSIVITY OF JESUS CHRIST

We believe that salvation from sin and Hell is found exclusively in trust
and obedience toward Jesus Christ. His sacrifice was the payment for
the sins of mankind. He is the only way to God, Truth, and eternal life
in Heaven. (John 14:6)

THE IDENTITY OF JESUS CHRIST

We believe that Jesus Christ was God in the flesh. (John 1:1,14)

THE WORD OF JESUS CHRIST

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God. It is without error in truth
and useful for guidance in all aspects of ministry, life, spirituality, and
understanding God’s ways. (Psalm 18:30)

THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST

Jesus resurrected in bodily form, validating His message, identity, and
power. (John 20:24-29)

THE FULLNESS OF JESUS CHRIST

We believe in the fullness of Jesus Christ and the gifts of His Holy
Spirit. He is Savior, Healer, Deliverer, and Baptizer. Everything that
He did in bodily form, He still performs through His Holy Spirit. (John
14:12; Acts 10:38; Mark 1:8; Hebrews 13:8)
