By empowering people, we enable them to fulfill their potential and to make the most of
land, skills, and natural resources, thereby helping whole communities thrive.
We have established a track-record of prosperous, sustainable projects in more than
twenty countries over the last three decades.
“Our experience around the world has proven time and again that the tools of
agriculture are the tools of economic development. I never get tired of seeing how our
projects set a whole value chain in motion and help entire regions grow and prosper. “
Known as the “Start-Up Nation,” Israel is famous for applying innovation and out-of-
the-box thinking to revolutionize the agriculture field. LR brings that mindset and
technology to rural areas around the world. Advanced, centralized farming offers the
economic advantages of large-scale enterprises to those who have never had
access to them before. By integrating technology, know-how, experience, and
training with economies of scale, projects can become the catalyst for intensive
economic growth. Their wide-reaching impact strengthens food security, livelihoods,
and overall progress.
Commercial farms with consolidated facilities offer the best chances for rapid and
ongoing returns on investment. That is why we help to fortify agro-industry and far-
ranging infrastructure, ensuring job creation throughout the community. By paying
close attention to every detail, from training and micro-financing to high-quality
seeds, we construct a network of economic, logistical, and human support. In order
to build all this on a strong foundation, LR manages marketing and guarantees
offtake, allowing farmers to begin their enterprises on a secure footing, ensuring
their economic success.
Investment And Involvement Throughout The Value Chain
ADAMA
The AIC provides all the necessary farming technology, support services and know-how
to local smallholder farmers so they can significantly improve their farming operations.
The AIC is also designed to enable economies of scale and the development of
agricultural value chains, through the establishment of a central commercial farm,
agricultural processing facilities, agricultural support services, knowledge transfer,
quality and standards assurance, branding, and market access
AISTCs can either be an integral part of one of LR Group’s AIT development projects,
or a standalone agricultural-support service center. The AISTC is designed to provide
agricultural inputs, technical services, and training. These services are provided to rural
townships functioning as a community, villages based on family farm holdings, and
adjacent medium and large scale agro enterprises.
Center of Excellence
Livestock
This includes dairy farming, as well as raising pigs, small ruminants, and poultry,
including both broilers and layers. We use state-of-the-art technology and management
practices in projects that incorporate feed mills, abattoirs, processing facilities, and
marketing operations, to provide people with a variety of high-quality protein sources.
Each project is carefully customized to meet local needs and climate conditions. By
using diverse farming practices, irrigation methods, harvesting techniques, and storage
technologies, we are able to develop a strong value chain for biofuels, grain, and fiber
sources for both humans and animals.
Protected Agriculture
Using innovative technologies and agronomic expertise with high-quality seedlings and
post-harvest treatment, we are able to produce crops year-round in greenhouses,
tunnels, and net structures. This enables these enterprises to meet both urban and rural
market demand for fresh produce.

The public healthcare system in Israel is renowned for its high medical and
management standards, giving us the tools to assist and consult with governments
striving to implement new, modern public healthcare.
Energy & Power
“When we work to improve power supply, we literally get to bring light to people’s lives.
With that foundation of infrastructure, communities are able to realize their full potential.”
We help to provide the sustainable infrastructures that form the basis of this vital
development.
Our experienced management team remains on-site well after each project has
been implemented and begun operating, in order to ensure a smooth handover.
Training and knowledge transfer continues until the project has achieved complete
independence.
The impact of this knowledge transfer goes far beyond the project by helping to
develop professionals who will support the project itself and create self-sustaining
employment throughout the community. At LR, projects are only completed when
the knowledge and experience has been successfully transmitted.
Renewable Power
LR Group has the expertise to provide renewable power solutions of all kinds, both on-
grid and off-grid, including hydro, solar, biomass and hybrid solutions. Leveraging
strategic alliances with component suppliers and technology providers, LR has
developed off-grid, rural electrification projects, and brought cutting-edge power plants
to several developing countries.

Construction & Infrastructure
Our goal with each and every project is to build at the highest levels of quality while
working in complete harmony with local residents, environments, and cultures.”
LR’s Construction & Infrastructure division has conquered challenging and diverse
projects around the world, providing experienced, expert construction services with
a unique focus on the local environment and culture
As part of this vision, we are attentive to the unique needs of each project, starting
from everything from local raw materials and soil conditions, and reaching to the
community’s culture and lifestyle, in addition to the client’s schedule, and regulatory
requirements. We employ cutting-edge technology and years of experience building
infrastructure, affordable housing, and high-end, urban residential and commercial
buildings. Using these tools, we seek to complement and strengthen regional
employment and local production, in order to build strong communities.
Construction
Imported or locally-manufactured bricks for clean, light, and rapid construction. Mortar-
Covered Light Steel Frames

skeleton which can be imported or constructed on-site.
Infrastructure
” Each water project that LR works on, takes us closer to a world where every person
has access to safe water and to agricultural development where children can spend
their time in school instead of walking miles every day to get a jug of water, and where
food security becomes an achievable goal for all.. “
A reliable water supply goes well beyond ensuring drinking water and sanitation. It
is the key to health, food security, energy access, and safe industry. LR’s water
division is doing its part to promote global access to safe water and to agricultural
development by providing tailor-made integrated solutions that are environmentally
friendly from the source to the end-user.
Integration and efficient management of water resources are the keys to providing
access to safe water and the economic development that accompanies it. LR designs
systems that take into account existing surface and groundwater resources,
desalination, wastewater treatment and reuse, as well as simplicity, for optimal
management and lowered operation costs.
The LR water division builds complex infrastructures that include intake, water treatment
plants, conveyance systems, ground-level reservoirs, elevated water tanks, distribution
systems and house connections. These systems are designed with careful thought,
using forecasts of future water demand in each sector, based on population growth and
increases in standard of living.
Non-Revenue Water
Wastewater Systems
Irrigation Technology
LR’s water division enables efficient and productive use of water resources by using
smart pressurized irrigation, including drips, pivot centers, sprinklers, and more.
Desalination Plants
In 2014, LR Group set out to provide a clean, safe water supply to villages in Sri
Lanka’s North West Province. Using advanced water treatment technologies, the
group has been improving health and economic growth by reducing impurities and
offering a continuous, reliable supply of clear, fresh drinking water to the residents
of the villages in the region.
The Opportunity
Provide clean, safe water in order to lower the high numbers of people suffering from
Chronic Kidney Disease, which affects families and children throughout rural Sri Lanka.
Because water pipes don’t reach most parts of Sri Lanka’s North West Province (NWP),
people rely on both deep and shallow sources of groundwater. This water is
characterized by high levels of hardness and fluoride content which does not meet
minimum quality standards for drinking water, which is the primary cause of the rising
numbers of CKD patients. Therefore improving the quality of the local water supply
became an urgent necessity.
The Vision
Create a solution that can bring safe, potable water to the people who need it
This lack of clean water exists throughout the country, but has its greatest impact
throughout rural areas. LR Group has been addressing the problem there, using
knowledge, technology, and experience accumulated over many years in arid
climate environments.
The project’s primary goal is to provide a reliable supply of fresh drinking water to
villages and communities in NWP. This reduces the problem of CKD as well and boosts
overall health and living standards in the area. The project required technology that
could treat the water’s salinity and the hardness as well as lower the groundwater’s
fluoride content in CKD-prone areas.
Creating the logistical and human infrastructure for a full water treatment system
The project faces a number of logistical challenges. Narrow roads, long distances,
flooding and power supply interruptions demanded special attention from the team. All
of these challenges are being overcome with careful planning, hard work and the
support of the motivated local workers and authorities.
Impact
Employment Impact
During the implementation of the project, dozens of jobs are being created both directly
and indirectly. In particular, maintenance jobs are able to provide livelihoods for many
local residents. The project also includes a training program for the local team and the
regional plant operators, to help transfer the necessary skills as well as ensure
sustainability and the system’s efficient operation over the long term.
Community Impact
The results of the project are already visible throughout the NWP. The availability of
safe drinking water has reduced the fear of disease, improving the overall community
morale. As safe, clean water brings about a decline in disease, it also helps to increase
the region’s productivity. As their health improves, more of the region’s youth are able
to access education and take on productive employment, allowing them to take part in
local commerce and contribute to economic growth
Project Status
Most of the RO units have already been installed and are running successfully. The
project is expected to be completed during 2016.
Koroba Agro Industrial Center, PNG
LR Group’s Koroba Agro Industrial Center (AIC) in Papua New Guinea’s Hela
Province is part of a comprehensive strategy for revitalizing the area, taking
advantage of its existing resources and introducing advanced agriculture
technologies. By providing sophisticated facilities, high-level training, and all the
benefits of economy of scale, the new AIC offers a better future for the residents of
Hela Province.
The Opportunity
The Vision
Provide the LNG catering services with fresh local eggs and vegetables, while directly
and indirectly creating many new jobs.
Provide local communities with modern agriculture and business skills, introducing them
to new farming techniques and training methods, as well as offering access to inputs
and a stable market for their produce.
Demonstrate that with the appropriate planning and implementation, even this extremely
remote location can produce commercial agriculture goods that meet international
quality standards
The Challenges
This was just the beginning of community involvement in the project. Every step of the
process was carefully coordinated with neighboring clans, including employee
recruitment. Today all employees are from the immediate vicinity of the project,
recruited from the local clans, trained on-site, and living within walking distance.
The Project
The Koroba project produces eggs and fresh vegetables that meet international quality
standards, which would not otherwise be available in the area. They supply both the
catering services of the LNG operations as well as the local market, expanding on the
ways that the LNG project has benefited the local community.
To ensure that egg price remains competitive and to keep earnings within the local
economy, the chickens are fed on grain that the project has grown in cooperation with
the surrounding communities.
To boost local maize production the AIC established a training facility and
demonstration plots, encouraging up to 20 farmers a week to participate in training
sessions. The AIC provides the farmers with free seeds, locally made fertilizers, and a
guaranteed market with a premium price relative to the international market.
In total, the project regularly engages over 400 families in the production of maize.
High quality vegetables are being produced in state-of-the-art facilities with cutting-edge
drip irrigation systems that meet the exact requirements and specifications of the AIC’s
commercial clients. The use of high end technology ensures the project’s ability to
continue introducing new crops to the region and thereby avoid competing with small-
scale farmers in the area.
The AIC provides packing, sorting, refrigeration, and quality assurance services as well
as taking responsibility for marketing, beginning with logo and brand development all
the way through sales and distribution.
The Result
Employment Impact
The project provides direct employment to over 60 local employees and engages more
than 400 families from the immediate neighboring communities in the production of
maize for stock feed. This makes the Koroba project the area’s largest employer. More
than 50% of the direct employees are female, bringing a message of equality and fair
employment to communities where options like this never existed in the past.
Production Impact
The AIC is able to completely meet the LNG catering service’s demand for both eggs
and fresh vegetables, so that the catering budget stays largely within the local economy.
Even after supplying the LNG operations, enough eggs are produced to supply much of
the overall local demand.
Community Impact
Project Status
The AIC has been in full production since 2014. In addition to maize, it produces more
than 8,000 eggs per day and 600kg of high quality vegetables every week. As training
continues and production increases, the economic and social benefits of the project are
sure to be felt more and more throughout the Hela Province.
N’sele Presidential Farm, DRC
The Opportunity
Although suffering from chronic food shortages, the DRC’s climate and varied soil offer
it the potential to be a prominent agricultural producer.
The 1566-hectare New N’sele Agricultural Farm (NNAF) complex, located on the banks
of the N’sele River, was founded to feed the surrounding population of Kinshasa and the
entire area, while directly and indirectly creating employment for local residents.
For years, a lack of stability had hindered the project, but the return of political stability
to the DRC brought with it the opportunity and full government support to assist the arm
in achieving its original goals.
The Vision
The Challenges
The Project
LR Group contracted with NNAF for a multi-phase rehabilitation project that began by
upgrading the infrastructure: paving roads, installing an electricity grid, and transforming
the water supply with filtration, conservation and wastewater treatment technologies.
N’sele facilities were expanded to include greenhouses and aquaculture ponds, and re-
equipped at international standards to produce eggs, poultry broilers, pigs, vegetables,
fruits, field crops and commercially raised fish.
Supporting facilities such as feed mills, incubators, storage, offices, and a logistics
center are in various stages of construction and operation.
Training began on-site for both managers, employees, and local farmers to enhance
their competency in all aspects of modern agro-business.
The shared values of professional teamwork, worker health and safety standards,
environmental care, quality control, veterinary practices, and responsibility to buyers
and suppliers were strengthened and quickly applied.
Market Impact: NNAF began reconstruction in the summer of 2013 and with prompt
cooperation from the local community was able to produce and sell the first products
by January 2014.
A small outlet at the farm entrance attracted a loyal following through direct sales, which
grew further supported by organized marketing campaigns.
The regional market responded well to both the affordable price and the quality of
N’sele’s products, which were recognized as superior to both local and imported
products.
Worker Impact: All employees benefit from stable salaries, social benefits, work-site
protection and strong manager relations.
Positive effects are traveling beyond the farm’s borders as many local business have
become N’sele suppliers and out-growers in the area will soon begin receiving training
and seeds to improve their field yields.
Community Impact: Community activities have been organized, and a health clinic is
supported by LR Group.
A new central facility for work, leisure and family activities is now being planned and a
thriving commercial center has developed next to the farm where the farm’s sales outlet
attracted supporting businesses such as stores and restaurants.
The villages in the area, and along the upgraded electricity grid and water lines now
serving the farm, were also connected to this infrastructure, increasing the quality of life
for the immediate region.
Last but not least, LR Group supports local organizations in many ways, including
donations of farm-grown food.
The DRC’s encouraging economic growth – 8.1 percent in 2013, and another
8.9 percent in 2014 – was reportedly driven partly by increased agricultural
productivity, along with focused government effort to help small farmers.
By demonstrating that the N’sele model was effective in bringing Congolese
agricultural practices up to the highest international standards, the LR Group
continues to contribute to the country’s economic revival and future leadership
on the African continent.
Sustainability a core value for LR Group
LR Group fully adheres to this principle. It is a defining part of our business philosophy,
and is carefully incorporated into every project we undertake. LR Group’s approach
includes four main components: Environmental sustainability, innovative technology,
cultivation of local partnerships, and the efficient transfer of knowledge and skills.
Before beginning any project, LR Group conducts meticulous environmental and cultural
assessments, making sure we have a deep understanding and appreciation for local
resources and potential.
LR’s next step to sustainability involves using clean technology that can ensure the
most efficient use of both human and environmental resources while meeting the
individual needs of each project. This underscores that long-term perspective that is a
foundation of our philosophy and our business strategy.
Establishing local partnerships is the foundation for LR projects, as it is the first step to
creating acceptance and personal investment on the part of local communities, leading
to abiding trust and continuity. These partners include regional governments, local
entrepreneurs, nearby residents, or even all three. By establishing strong networks of
trusting partners, LR promotes mutual economic benefits and overall business growth.
This also paves the way for the final key ingredient of LR Group’s approach to
sustainability: knowledge transfer. By training members of the local community, LR
builds a diverse community of skilled professionals able to support and lead each
project. This is the essential element in ensuring a successful transition and the
continuation of each project’s social, environmental, and economic impact.
In order to guarantee that we are meeting our own high standards of sustainable
progress, LR Group monitors each project using impact assessment methods that have
been perfected over years of worldwide development experience. This allows us to
certify that innovative, state-of-the-art projects are driven by tangible positive results for
communities and stakeholders.
All of these factors are necessary in order to turn LR’s vision into reality. Creating
environmental awareness, securing community engagement, developing local
entrepreneurship, and ensuring food security, LR Group demonstrates daily that there
are no shortcuts on the road to sustainability.
Our experience shows that an extensive educational process, combined with the
introduction of new technologies, encourages personal and regional development,
empowering our local stakeholders.
