I. Objectives
At the end of 30-minute period, with the use of video presentation,
100% of the pupils should be able to do the following with 75% success:

a. classify the types of symbiosis

b. draw the different type of symbiosis
c. value the importance of symbiosis in the ecosystem

II. Subject Matter

a. Topic: Types of Symbiosis
b. Reference: Into the future: Science and Health pg. 60-61
c. Materials: Video clip, Photo cube and visual aids
d. Teaching method: Inductive Method

III. Procedures
A. Preliminaries
1. Routine
2. Health Inspection
3. Review
 What is predation? (Predation is a biological interaction
where a predator (an organism that is hunting) feeds on its
prey (the organism that is attacked.)

B. Lesson development
1. Activity
 Motivation
“Symbiosis Song”
Symbiosis is the relationship between the organisms
There are 3 types of Symbiosis that found in the ecosystem
Chorus:
Parasitism is relationship between organisms;
the one is benefit but the other is harmed
Commensalism is relationship between organisms;
the one is benefit but the other is not harmed
And the relationship that both organisms benefit
is what we called Mutualism
And that’s the types of symbiosis, uh-oh.
 Activity
- Video clip showing (Types of Symbiosis)
- Photo cube (Pictures of different types of symbiosis)
2. Analysis
 The video is all about what?
 Which pair shows parasitism?
 The orchid and the tree shows what type of symbiosis?
 Which pair shows mutualism?
 What is the importance of symbiosis in the ecosystem?

3. Abstraction

is important to have a
balance in the ecosystem.
 What are the three types of symbiosis?
 What is the importance of symbiosis in the ecosystem?

4.Application
 The class will be divided into 3 groups and they will draw
the type of symbiosis assigned to them and present to the
class. ( 3 minutes for preparation and 2 for presentation)
 The pupils will say something about their presentation.

IV. Evaluation
Direction: Write P if the picture shows Parasitism, C if the picture shows
Commensalism and M if the picture shows Mutualism. Write your
answer before the number.
