Journal 2: Week 2 (May 14th, 2017- May 18th, 2017)

From the starting of the second week at Banglalink Digital Communication, it became much
easier to cope up with the work environment and the employee set up. I have tried to cope up
with the organization’s culture along with the rules and practices with more dedication and
respect.

Work done:

In the second week of my internship, Md. Mesbah Ul Aziz, one of my line managers,
provided me with the task of working with some confidential data related to the West Zone
Power Distribution Co. Ltd (WZPDL). With the data of the registered accounts of each of the
consumers, I was asked to correspond to the data with each of the districts- more specifically
with six districts having more than four hundred consumer information. The matched data
then had to be moved to different set of spreadsheets under each of the districts. The data that
was unmatched had to be re-arranged according to the consumer numbers and prepare a
spreadsheet. Depending on the database created, I had to elaborate and interpret each of the
databases one by one preparing a detailed consumer analysis report. The report was then sent
to the HR department from where I was given the instruction to match with each of the
employee who had worked with specific consumer information set and create a database
regarding it.

Apart from this I have also worked for the Corporate Responsibility Program Manager, Md
Mehedi Hasan, for preparing few documents for the CSR website maintained by Banglalink.
I had to gather information from various websites of Banglalink and few more documents
given by Mr. Mehedi, and prepare a material that would be published in the website for the
Banglalink mHealth, mAgriculure, IT Incubator and National Hackathon.

Learning:

During the second week of my internship I had to apply for a leave because of an accident I
had faced which was on May 16, 2017. But as my health couldn’t recover properly I was
asked to apply for a ‘bridge holiday’ afterwards for the extra days that I missed apart from
my applied ones. The concept of this bridge holiday was a new-sprung to my HR knowledge
which I discovered during my second week.
Also I had the opportunity of learning to prepare a database in context of three different arena
concerning regulations, human resource, and supply chain. Also while working on the CSR
write ups, I have learned how to do formal write-ups for the company websites. And
Banglalink has an IT Incubator through which they help start-ups to be successful, I was no
aware of any organization that give a proper guideline to the start-ups to maintain their future.
