COC 1

1. Assemble and Disassemble PC - 25 minutes


2. Create a bootable device such as flash disk using Windows 7 USB DVD tool
to create bootable device:
- start Windows 7 USB DVD Tool
- find the ISO file (R2)
- click open
- click next
- begin copying
- wait until finish
3. Reformat server and partition the drive using the created bootable device
4. Install the necessary drivers using the Drivers Pack tools

COC 2

1. Design a Diagram for Networking Using Dynamic or Static IP Address with label and legend
- labeled meters of ethernet/utp cable corresponds to actual cable to be created
2. Apply the created diagram
- Attach the server to the patch panel at the back
- Attach the Netbook and Desktop to the switch hub
- Attach the patch panel and the switch hub at the port of the front
3. Configure the network settings
Change adapter settings by changing the sharing options
- Turn on network discovery
- Turn on file and printer sharing
- Turn on sharing
- Turn off password

Change adapter settings


- right click and click properties
- select internet protocol and click properties
- select Obtain IP and Obtain DNS for the Dynamic IP Address

Change the computer name and Workgroup, make it sure that they have the same Workgroup
Disable the Wi-Fi connection of Netbook and Enable the Ethernet Connection

Set-up Server

1. Configure the router


- Change SSID and Password
- the ethernet cable attached from the switch hub to the netbook will be taken from the
switch hub and attach it to the router
- reset the router by long pressing the reset button for 5 seconds
- open Internet Explorer and type the default gateway in the URL address and press enter
to display the login dialog box
- type admin for the default password
- click Advanced
- click Wireless
- Personalized the Primary SSID Example: CSS17 and click OK
- Click Wireless Security
- Click Security Key and personalized it at least 8 characters and click OK

How to block:
-Click Security and click URL Filter Settings and select Forbid Only

To change the IP address from Dynamic to Static:


- Press windows + r
- type cmd and press Enter
- type ipconfig to copy the IP address given by the router
- copy the given IP address and change the Dynamic IP address to Static IP Address
based on the given IP
- see to it that the connected device will be seen in the network

To check the connectivity from one device to another:


- press windows + r
- ping 192.168.0.100 -t

- Create Wireless Peer-to-Peer Networking

2. Setting-up the server


For the Server:
Step 1: Install the 4 Roles:
- Install Active Directory Domain Services
- Install DNS server
- Install File Services
- Install DHCP

Start Here!!!!

Note: CLIENT is obtain automatically, change to domain


Log in: Administrator, (Public, home, shld pop-up then choose any)
=> in server press windows + r
=> type dcpromo and press Enter
=> As the Active Directory Domain Services Installation Wizard display click Next
=> click Next and choose Create a New Domain
=> type the domain name with .net, .com, .ph extension example: sjnhs.net, sjnhs.com, sjnhs.ph
=> click Next
=> in the Set Forest Functional Level select Windows Server 2008 R2
=> click Next
=> click Next
=> click yes
=> click Next
=> create and confirm password, example: Css123@
=> click Next
=> click Next
=> check Reboot on completion
After Reboot:
Log in using password: (administrator)
=> Click the Server Manager at the right side of Start button
=> Add roles and click Server Roles and select the four Roles such as
Active Directory Domain Services, DNS Server, File Services and DHCP
(/* make sure that there are 4 roles added)
Note: Print & document services can be installed together w/ DHCP, file services)
=> click Next
=> click Next
=> click Next
=> Click the Validate and click Next
=> Click Next
=> Click Next
=> in Add or Edit DHCP Scopes
=> click Add to display Add Scope dialog box
=> Type scope name, example school name such as SJNHS
=> type the starting IP address: 192.168.0.1
=> type the ending IP address: 192.168.0.51 the ending is the number added 50 in starting IP
=> click OK
=> Click Next
=> click Disable and click Next
=> in Authorize DHCP Server click Next
=> In Confirm Installation Selections click Install

To add users: (Create Folder in Drive D and Share…..) (courage)

- clict start button and


click Administrative Tools and
find Active Directory Users and Computer
- click the created Domain
- right click the created Domain and
select New and
click Organizational Unit and
type folder redirection
and click OK
- click folder redirection
- right click folder redirection and
click New then click user
- type the needed information and
click Next /* example type Desktop for desktop computer
- type and confirm the password and click Password never expires and click Next
- Click Finish
- to add another user right click folder redirection and click New then click user
- type the needed information and click Next /* example type Netbook for netbook computer
- type and confirm the password and click Password never expires and click Next
- Click Finish

To create folder:
- in Local Disk C: Create new folder namely folder redirection (faith)
- share the created folder by right clicking on it and click properties
and click Advance Sharing
- click share this folder
- select permission and select full control and
click apply and click OK
click apply and click OK
- click share
- select Everyone in arrow down and then click Add
- select Read/Write and click Share
- click Done
- highlight the server path example \\SERVER\folder redirection
- click Close

Group Policy Management:


- Click Start and find Administrative Tools and
-click Group Policy Management
- click the + sign of Forest and the
+ sign of Domain
- right Click the created Domain and click Create a GPO in this Domain
- type the name folder redirection and click OK
- Right click the GPO folder redirection and choose Edit
- in Group Policy Management Editor
select User Configuration
- click the + sign of POlicies and select the
+ sign of Windows Settings and
select (Folder Redirection)
- Select/Right click Desktop and click properties and
click arrow down for the setting and
select Basic
in the Root Path paste the copied server path of folder example: \\SERVER\folder redirection
- click OK
- Yes

For the Client:


- change the IP Address to Dynamic or Obtain to make it safe in terms of IP Address
- change the Workgroup to Domain by right clicking the Computer icon and
select properties
- sjnhs.net
- in the Local Area Connection
- select Internet Protocol version 4 and click properties
- set to obtain automatically
- click OK
- click Close
- click Close
- in the Computer Name/Domain Changes click OK
- in the Windows Security of Computer Name/Domain Changes dialog box
type Administrator and password Css123@
- Click Ok then close

……Same process for the Netbook as client

////To practice again in COC3 deletes all Roles


CAUTION!!! Change the client to WORKGROUP before deleting Roles Otherwise your Client will be
formatted!!!!!!!

- Click Start
- Select Administrative Tools
- Select Share and Storage Management and click Next
- Select Removed
- Uncheck the Installed Roles

To Delete Active Directory Services


- press windows + r
- type dcpromo
- type password
- click Next
- select Remove
- Uncheck the Installed Roles)))))////

Remote Desktop for Server:


- Right click computer icon on the desktop and select properties

- Computer properties
- change settings
- Select Remote settings(allow/disallow if cant connect)
- Add remote users
- Select Remote, click 2nd option Allow, and click Select Users
- Click Add button and type the Username of client and click OK
for CLient:
- click Start button
- select Remote Desktop Connection
- in Remote Desktop Connection dialog box type the full computer name of the server /*
example: SERVER.qwerty.ph
- click Connect button
- select other users
- type username and password /* example: username: administrator pw: Css123@
- click OK
- click Yes
- Wait for a while and Start Accessing the Server

COC 4:

In Network Printing:
- Add Roles first
- Open Server Manager
- Select Add Roles
- Select Print and Document Services
- Select Print Server and Click Next
- Click Installed
- if installation succeeded click Close
- install the Printer Driver
- share the installed printer by right clicking the icon in the Devices and Printers, select Printer
Properties
and click OK
- Open Network and find the printer and double click the shared printer /* if not allowed install the
driver first
- Open the shared printer drivers and select setup to install the printer
- Open the shared printer and click try the Test Print

Back-up and Restore for Server:


- Add features for the server by opening Server Manager and click Features then Add Features
- Find Windows Servers Backup Features and click Next then Install
- After Installation Succeeded click Close
- Click Storage and select Windows Server Backup
- Click Backup Once and select Different Option then Next
- Select Custom and Click Next
- Click Add Items then find the folder to Backup and Click Next /* example:
\\Administrator.SERVER.000
- Select Local Drives or Other Computer Click Next then Backup
- Click Next
- Click Close as completed

To Restore:
- In Server Manager click Recover
- Click Next
- Click Next
- Click Files and folders and Click Next
- Find the Backup Folder
- Click Printer Drivers
- Click Next
- Select Original Location
- Click Next
- click Recover
