EMERGENCY OVERVIEW
This product is considered an “ARTICLE” under the guidelines of the Federal OSHA Hazard
Communication Standard, 21 CFR 1910.1200.
Appearance and Odor: Cylindrical white solid filter cartridge. This product is odorless.
NO SIGNIFICANT HAZARDS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS MATERIAL IF USED AS
DIRECTED.
POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS
EYE CONTACT: This product is not known to cause eye irritation if used as directed. But, as
with any foreign object contacting the eyes, flush eyes with copious amounts of water; do not rub
eyes.
SKIN CONTACT: This product is virtually non-irritating to the skin. If skin irritation does
occur, remove necessary clothing and wash the affected area with water.
INHALATION: This product is not known to cause respiratory tract irritation if used as directed.
INGESTION: This product is not known to be an ingestion hazard.
4. FIRST AID MEASURES
IF IN EYES OR ON SKIN, immediate first aid is not likely to be required. However, this
material can be removed with water. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
IF INHALED, immediate first aid is not likely to be required. However, if symptoms occur,
remove to fresh air. Remove materials from eyes, skin and clothing
IF SWALLOWED: immediate first aid is not likely to be required. A physician or Poison
Control Center can be contacted for advice. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
In case of spill, vacuum clean or wet sweep. Flush residual spill area with water.
EYE PROTECTION: This product does not cause significant eye irritation or eye toxicity
requiring special protection. Use good industrial practice to avoid eye contact.
SKIN PROTECTION: This product does not present a significant skin concern requiring special
protection.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: N/A
VENTILATION: N/A
AIRBORNE EXPOSURE LIMITS: N/A
9. PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES
Appearance and Odor: Cylindrical white solid filter cartridge. This product is odorless.
NOTE: This physical data is typical based on material testing but may vary from sample to
sample. Typical values should not be construed as a guaranteed analysis of any specific lot or as
specifications of the product.
The compatibility data provided in the Product Specification Sheet is intended as a guideline
only. It is recommended that the compatibility of the chemicals with CUNO Incorporated
products be established under actual filter conditions since operating parameters may affect both
chemical and filter components.
HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS: Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and other
organic vapors/materials.
The test article is considered non-cytotoxic and meets the requirements of the Elution Test, USP
23.
Also, the test article meets the requirements of the United States Pharmacopeia, for the
Biological Test for Plastics, Class VI-70 degrees C.
N/A. CUNO has not conducted environmental toxicity or biodegradation studies with this
product.
After usage, filter media may be considered hazardous depending on what it was used for.
On its own, this material when discarded is not a hazardous waste as the term is defined by
RCRA, 40 CFR 261. Consult your attorney or appropriate regulatory officials for information on
disposal.
This product should not be dumped, spilled, rinsed or washed into sewers of public waterways.
