One thing that I wish I had learnt earlier in my life, as the old saying goes, “life is tough,

nothing happens to you but everything happens for you…pick out the positive details from
the negative events in your life.”

My name is Iqra Waheed Ahmed, I was born on 10 th September 1994, in Gujranwala. I

belong to a mediocre household where I have my mother who is a housewife and my father,
my role model who is a business man.

I grew up in a joint family system, where I was the only girl with, to mention, 7 cousins who
are more like brothers. With all masculinity around it was pretty tough for me to determine
my feminine side and realizing other things about life other than winning a game or rivalry
otherwise. I don’t have a crystal-clear memory but my mother told me that I used to be very
competitive yet caring, as it is my basic instinct being a girl. I started my Schooling at the age
of 4 from FEDERAL SCIENCE COLLEGE, WAPDA TOWN, GUJRAWALA. It was
considered to be one the best schools at that time as it was affiliated with Federal Board.
Even though I was competitive but I had my brothers and my parents taking care of me
always, it won’t be wrong to say that I was a pampered child and hence resulted in a shy and
least confident person. I could never speak up for myself. But as far as academic progress is
concerned, I kept securing top three positions throughout.

Change is the one universal constant. I changed too, the nudge that I needed to be up there on
the platform and determining who I am, was given by my English teacher MISS SHAZIA
YASIR in my final year of Matric. She pushed me to participate in co-curricular activities as
she saw it in me. I hosted an event, that was a speech competition happened at my school.
Since the day it was too difficult for me to keep myself away from stage activities.

Now that I have an Intermediate degree with Pre-engineering and Associate Degree in
Information technology, I wanted to learn about “people” other than certain sciences. The
only thing that can make you understand people is psychology, and if integrated with
business; that is my only interest because of my father, Human Resource management is best
lead. As I finish my MBA with Human Resource Management, knowing I have had
accomplished what I was in here for, I want to stay positive for whatever life throws at me
and be satisfied and as an immediate action plan I really have an urge to serve the community
and by giving a nudge to another human being who is shy to come out of his shell.
