1 License Overview
License Authorization Code (LAC) is generated by Huawei Symantec license issuing system and
uniquely identifies the authorization certificate. This term is still used in Huawei Symantec license
issuing system. In the existing Huawei license issuing system, the term is named Entitlement ID.
ESN(Equipment serial number): The equipment serial number is a string of characters,
which uniquely identifies a device. It is used to ensure that the license is granted to the
specified device. It is also called the fingerprint of a device.
LSN(License Serial No): The license serial number uniquely identifies a license file.
Revoke Code: If you run command on a device to revoke a license, you can obtain a
character string, which is the revoke code. You need the revoke code when changing the
ESNs in the license management system. After you run command to revoke a license, the
license file becomes invalid.
Procedure
End User Applies for an Account
a. Enter http://app.huawei.com/isdp to open Huawei license website page. Click
Uniportal on the login page.
c. Enter required information and log in to your email box to activate the account.
An employee of a channel partner cannot apply for the permission on Huawei license website. The
Echannel administrator can apply the accounts for the employees. If you have any question, contact

1. Log in to the user and permission management platform
http://enterprise.huawei.com/cn/myhuawei/accountinformation/index.htm. Choose My
Organization > Permission Management, and click Apply for Permission.
2. Select the SDP system, apply for an account, and click Submit Application. Then the
contact person of Huawei channel management system approves the application.
2 License Operations
Procedure
Step 1 Open a browser, enter https://Northbound floating IP address:31945 in the address bar and
press Enter to log in to the management plane of SecoManager.
Step 2 Choose Maintenance > Collect Information > Collect ESN Information from the main menu.
Step 3 On the Collect ESN Information page, select the product and click Collect

Step 5 In the ESN list, click the .zip package of the collected ESN to download the file to the local
PC.
Step 6
The ESNs are in the file in the .zip package, and the ESNs of different nodes are separated by
commas (,).
In the DR scenario, you need to log in to the primary and secondary management planes
to obtain the corresponding ESNs, and combine the two ESNs using a comma (,) to
separate them. If the ESN of only one cluster is used to apply for a license file, the
cluster license may fail to be used.

Precautions
Error License Loading Policy
The ENS is incorrect. License loading is permitted. The system enters the
grace period and is available for emergency use for a
certain period (for example, 60 days).
Procedure
Step 1 Open a browser, enter https://Northbound floating IP address:31943 in the address bar, and
press Enter to log in to the control plane of SecoManager.
Step 2 After successful login, choose System > Certificate & License >License Information and
click Upload to open the Select License File dialog box.
Step 3 In the Select License File dialog box, click Select file, select a license file, and click Upload.
Step 4 After the license is uploaded successfully, you can check the license status on the License
Information page.

If your license becomes invalid due to a misoperation, log in to Huawei license website to
obtain a valid license file through the revocation code.
Step 1 Log in to the SecoManager management page using the admin account.
Step 2 After successful login, choose System > Certificate & License >License Information.
Step 3 Choose License File, the page as follows is displayed. Click Revoke License and click
Confirm to obtain the revocation code.

Step 2 Choose License Commissioning and Maintenance > Invalid License Regenerate to access
the Invalid License Regenerate page.
Step 3 Enter the revocation code and click Verify.
Step 4 After the verification succeeds, the product name, ESN, and license information are displayed
on the page. Click Submit.
Step 5 The system regenerates a valid license file. Click Download to download the license file.

Precautions
1. The entitlement ID (LAC), activation code, or project contract ID is obtained.
2. The ESN is obtained.
Procedure
Step 1 Log in to the Huawei license system (http://app.huawei.com/sdp/portal.html) and choose
License Activation > Entitlement Activation to open the License Activation page.
Step 2 In the page, search activation IDs based on the entitlement ID and select the desired ID. Click
Next.
Step 3 Enter the ESN of the desired server and click Next.

Precautions
1. The entitlement ID (LAC) and capacity expansion contract ID are obtained.
2. The device ESNs are obtained.
3. The product name and ESN in the contract must be the same as those on live network.
Procedure
Step 1 Log in to the Huawei license system (http://app.huawei.com/sdp/portal.html).
Step 2 Select Equipment(Node) Management and check that the ESN of the device of which the
capacity needs to be expanded is the same as that recorded in the license system.Click the
device (NE) name in the search result to view the detailed authorization information.
Step 3 Choose License Activation > Entitlement Activation. In the page that is displayed, enter the
Huawei entitlement ID and click Search. Select the license to be activated and activate it.
Then, download the license.

The revocation code applies to only the loaded licenses. For the licenses not loaded to device,
the revocation code cannot be obtained.
Procedure
Changing ESN with Revocation Code
a. Obtain the revocation code of the license file to be replaced according to section 2.3
Obtaining the Revocation Code.
b. Visit http://app.huawei.com/sdp/portal.html.
c. Choose License Commissioning and Maintenance > ESN Change to access the
ESN Change page.
d. Select ESN Change with Revocation Code, enter the revocation code, and click
Validate Revocation Code.
e. After verifying the revocation code, the system displays the device information of
the original ESN. Enter the new ESN. Click Submit.
f. Choose My Task > Operation Record to view the ESN change task. Click
Download to download the zip package to your device.
Changing ESN Without Revoke Code
a. Log in to the ESDP system http://app.huawei.com/isdp.
b. Choose License Commissioning and Maintenance > ESN Change to open the
ESN Change page.
c. Select ESN Change Without Revocation Code.
d. Set Region Name, Rep. Office, select Equipment, and enter the original ESN and
new ESN.
e. Enter the application reason and upload the change application of the channel
partner, and click Submit.
In China, the ESN change application is approved by the service delivery manager of the representative
office; outside China, the ESN change application is approved by the regional service delivery manager.
f. Choose My Task > My Application to view the application. Contact the current
owner to speed up approval. After the application is approved, you can receive a
mail notification. Click Application ID.
g. Choose My Task > Operation Record and find out the corresponding task. Click
Download to download the license file.
Precautions
1. The revoke code and source license file has been obtained.
2. The product runs the same software version.
Procedure
Self-Help Adjustment
a. Obtain the revoke code of the license file to be adjusted according to section 2.3
Obtaining the Revocation Code.
b. Log in to the Huawei license system (http://app.huawei.com/sdp/portal.html),
choose License Commissioning and Maintenance > Network Adjustment >
Equipment(Node) Adjust. On the page that is displayed, Application Mode to
With revocation code and click Add Equipment (Node).
c. Enter the revoke code of the device and click Search. The system automatically
displays related device, product, and ESN information. Click Confirm to return to
the Adjust page. If no license file is loaded to the target device, select Empty
Equipment.
d. On the Adjust page, select the corresponding device, enter the capacity, confirm
that the information is correct, and then click Submit.
e. In the info dialog box "License adjust task is committed. Please review the result in
My Tasks" that is displayed, click OK. Choose My Task > Operation Record and
find out the corresponding task. Click Download to download the license file.
c. Set Region and Rep. Office, fill in the cause, and click Add Equipment (Node).
d. Enter the revoke code of the device and click Search. The system automatically
displays related device, product, and ESN information. Click Confirm to return to
the Adjust page. If no license file is loaded to the target device, select Empty
Equipment.
e. On the Adjust page, select the corresponding device, enter the capacity, confirm
that the information is correct, and then click Submit.
f. Wait for the frontline service delivery manager to approve the application.
g. After the manager approves the application, the system automatically generates a
license and sends an Email to inform the applicant that adjusted license is available.
A fixed-term license can be used for feature trial, testing and certification, beta trial, or
exhibition.
The procedure for applying for a license in this section are common, but the screenshots are
used for reference only.
Procedure
Step 1 To apply for a fixed-term license, choose Fix-Term License > Fix-Term License
Application on the left and select a usage scenario.
Step 2 Use the feature trial scenario for example. On the following page, set the region,
representative office, product solution department, customer, country, and opportunity code
information.
Configuration Upload can be set to Import Unistar db File or Manually Configuration.
If Import Unistar db File is selected, the DB file exported from the CFG system will be used
to apply for a fixed-term license.
If Manually Configuration is selected, you need to manually fill to apply for a fixed-term
license. This is the most common uploading mode. The following example describes how to
apply for a fixed-term license using this uploading mode.

Precautions
1. Huawei product sales policies decide whether the temporary license can be downloaded
through self service. If the license of a product cannot be downloaded through self
service, the license application must be approved by the direct director and regional
product manager of enterprise service.
2. The validity period of a pre-sales temporary license is 90 days.
3. The pre-sales temporary license cannot be used for commercial networks.
Application Process
The frontline engineer or product manager applies for the temporary license for pre-sales POC
test. (ESDP website: Enterprise Temporary License > Pre-sale Expansion License

Enter the product and version information, required quantity for each license-controlled item
based on test requirements, and the ESN in the application form and then click Submit.
You can download the applied trial license from the application form after the direct director
and region-level product director approve the application.
Prerequisites
The license with fixed validity period is delivered. The maximum validity period is 90 days.

Enter the product and version information, required quantity for each license-controlled item
based on test requirements, and the ESN in the application form and then click Submit.
You can download the applied temporary license from the application form after the
marketing director approves the application.
IOT test: Test carried out on a public interface according to a standard protocol to check
the basic interoperability functions provided by a commercial version of a supplier's
equipment before the version is released. Designed to check the interoperability between
equipment of different suppliers, the IOT test is generally conducted in labs of the
suppliers.
Standard/forum test: Certification or qualification tests held by a standard organization or
forum.
Joint innovation projects with the customer: Test for joint innovation projects with
customers or research.
Beta test
Precautions
1. The temporary license for R&D external test cannot be downloaded through self service.
The license application must be approved by SPDT manager.
2. The maximum validity period of a temporary license is 90 days.
3. When you apply for a license, you need to enter the ESN that have been obtained. If you
cannot obtain the ESN in advance, enter a character string of forty 0s. The ESN is not
verified when the product license is uploaded.
Application Process
The product manager applies a license and manages licenses with fixed validity periods
according to service needs. ESDP website: Enterprise Temporary License > R&D External

Procedure
Step 1 Log in to the ESDP system.
Step 2 Choose License Commissioning and Maintenance > Download Commissioning License to
open the application page.
Step 3 Select a desired scenario. The items marked * are mandatory. Enter required information and
click Submit to submit the application. A commissioning license is then obtained.

Precautions
1. A 30-day license can be applied for each ESN based on product and R version (without
approval). The license can be applied for each R version for a maximum of three times.
License application does not need to be approved in this situation.
2. Before the PAC, the commissioning license must be replaced with commercial license of
the customer. This will be audited.
Procedure
Step 1 Log in to the ESDP system.
Step 2 Choose License Commissioning and Maintenance > Download Commissioning License to
open the application page.
Step 3 Select (Enterprise) network rollout before PAC for Scenario, and enter a 14-digit PO
number. The system compares the PO number with that in the ERP system. You can
download the license only after the verification is passed. The items marked * are mandatory.
Enter required information and click Submit to submit the application. The system delivers a
30-day license.

Precautions
1. The icare trouble ticket number and customer asset ESN need to be provided.
2. The validity period of such commissioning licenses is 14 days. The licenses can be
applied through self service (cc to AMS director). The number of application times is not
limited.
3. After the issue is solved, the commissioning license needs to be replaced with customer
license.
Procedure
Step 1 Log in to the ESDP system.
Step 2 Choose License Commissioning and Maintenance > Download Commissioning License to
open the application page.
Step 3 Select (Enterprise) Urgent accident recovery for Scenario and enter the direct director
name. Only a mail notification is required, and approval is not required. Enter the icare
trouble ticket number (enter public icare number 000000 for a non-trial area). The items
marked * are mandatory. Enter required information and click Save to submit the application.
The system delivers a 14-day license.

9 FAQ
When applying for a license file, you need to enter the device's ESN and encrypt the ESN as
part of the license file. After the system starts and a license file is imported, the system
compares the device's ESN with the unique identifier field in the license file to determine
whether the license file is valid.
For details on how to obtain the ESN, see section 2.1 Obtaining the ESN from the
SecoManager Page.
The ESN must be used. Otherwise, you cannot apply for the license file.
9.3 How Can I Do When the ESNs Are Not the Same?
When you have installed the SecoManager on another server, or the server network adapter or
the virtual machine's MAC address changes, the ESN entered for applying a license differs
from that of the device. If so, the system verification fails and you need to apply for a new
license file.
Solution: Apply for a license file in time or contact Huawei's local product managers or
Huawei customer service.
Solution: Sign a formal commercial contract and obtain an official license file. You can also
apply for a temporary license for trial.
Impact: You cannot use SecoManager after the license has expired. After you log in, the
system displays a message indicating that the license has expired.
Solution: Sign a formal commercial contract, obtain an official license file, and update the
new license file in a timely manner. Do not change the system time to prolong the validity
period. If you change the system time, data disorder may occur.
