American Heart Association
Heartsaver CPR courses
These American Heart Association
courses are for anyone who may have
family members at risk of cardiac
emergencies or want to know how to
respond to an emergency situation in
the home or workplace.
Information and skills covered include
cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
and relief of foreign body airway
obstruction (FBAO).
A course completion card is issued
after a demonstration of skills.
Recertification is recommended every
two years.
These American Heart Association
courses meet requirements as
nationally recognized CPR and AED
training.
All classes may be individually arranged
for groups of six or more at St. Luke’s
Hospital or your location.

Heartsaver CPR for Infants and
Children (Heartsaver Baby)
This three hour course focuses on cardio-
pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and relief
of foreign body airway obstruction
(FBAO) for infants (birth to age one) and
children (one to eight years of age).
Heartsaver CPR for Adults
This three hour course focuses on cardio-
pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and
foreign body airway obstruction (FBOA)
for adults.
Heartsaver CPR for all ages
This three hour course focuses on
cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
and foreign body airway obstruction
(FBAO) for all ages (adult, child and
infant).
Heartsaver AED
This four hour course is for all lay
rescuers, especially those who are
expected to respond to emergencies in
the workplace and who have access to an
AED (Automated External Defibrillator).
Information presented and skills covered
include adult CPR, relief of choking and
use of the AED. This course can include
child CPR, FBAO and AED training
along with infant CPR if requested.
Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid and CPR
This four hour course teaches
individuals to manage injury/illness in
an infant or child in the first few minutes
until professional help arrives. This class
is perfect for those involved in childcare
and/or those who have a duty to
respond to a first aid emergency.
Healthcare Provider CPR
This four hour course is for all healthcare
providers, including physicians, nurses,
emergency medical technicians, medical
assistants, students and any other allied
personnel who provide healthcare to
patients in a variety of settings, in or out
of the hospital.
American Heart Association’s
information and skills covered include
cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
including use of barrier and bag-valve-
mask devices, use of the automated
external defibrillator (AED) and relief of
foreign body airway obstruction (FBAO)
for all ages.
