Philosophy of Sleep Using Occam’s Razor

It is not always the case that sleeping hugely contributes to a person’s physical
growth. Besides, there are still conditions a person should consider in order to maintain
their own pace. In fact, we are going to briefly analyze the sleeping process and its
misconceptions and preventions everyone must know.

Using Occam’s Razor, two prevalent ideas are formed with respect to a person’s
belief towards sleeping in general: the superstition and the scientific explanation. The
former reminds us of parents’ way of reprimanding their children to stop playing too much
and fear them that they might not get tall if they disobey. The latter contrasts the folk
knowledge and presents the idea that gaining height is not always directed towards sleeping
but it can be scientifically proven by genetics and environmental factors. Evaluating the
context of the two contrasting conceptions, the former can be sought through personal
experience and the latter can be sought through scientific investigation.

It can be understood from the concept of Occam’s Razor that most of us choose
towards believing simple but wrong answers and going against complex but right answers.
In this manner, it can be assumed that the superstition has gained control within a person’s
belief in managing his or her own lifestyle. We are too much absorbed from the culture to
the point that we forget the value of doing some research from credible sources and
thinking once again. Using verification, there might be some people who can confirm and
affirm the superstition being true to them. However, their confirmation might be strange to
scientists believing that the growth hormones work independently from sleeping.

Here is the bottom line: sleeping is still important, no matter what we believe or how
long or quick we invest ourselves in letting our body and mind rest in utmost peace. There is
also no reason to brag one’s height. Every person grows not at the same time but in
different pace and direction.
