2 May 2020

Sirs

There are several concerns that I want to address pertaining to the conduct of these online classes as
also pointed out in several of our meetings with the VPAA and the deans of other programs.

The concerns are rooted on the question of quality delivery of online lessons. To this end the VPAA with
the council's input suggested the following guidelines and procedure .Eventually, to be added to the
Policies Manual.

Upon recommendation from the VPAA and agreed upon by the council:
1. Delivery of lessons will be done in weekly scheduled batches.
a. These includes the" Student's Module"
i. Contains the expected Learning Outcomes for the week (Based of course from
the TLA)
ii. A set of instructions that student are to do for the week such as:
1. The intended reading materials
2. Weekly Exercise(s) or check up assessment(s)
3. Assignment(s) for the next lesson (if any)
iii. References such as
1. Links to sites, videos, documents, files on the internet
2. Pdf files, documents, power-point presentations, etc. that may be
uploaded together with this Module (Just be sure these are your own or
is copyrights-free so as not to infringe on copyrights).
b. Other attachments in the module may include (Just be sure these are your own or is
copyrights-free so as not to infringe on copyrights):
i. Pdf files
ii. Documents
iii. Power-point presentations
iv. And other types such as images, info graphics, etc..
c. Links to Internet resources such as:
i. Sites
ii. Videos
iii. Documents (Pdf; Presentations; Spreadsheets; etc.)
iv. And others such as online applications or programs, etc.

2. At the end of the term (summer or Semester) these weekly modules are to be compiled and
made into a course module for the following terms of offering.
3. For monitoring purposes:
a. A weekly report about the class activity and problems/issues encountered by students
and/or teacher MAY be required (subject still for deliberation).
b. From time to time Deans and/or Hreads may visit the class for monitoring of
implementation of these guidelines.
