ONLINE END SEMESTER EXAMINATIONS – JULY 2020

In continuation to the circulars sent on 18.05.2020, 01.06.2020 and 09.06.2020


regarding Online Examinations, please refer to the Online End Semester Examination
Timetable displayed in the Examination page of the University website and the
guidelines communicated earlier.
The Online Internal Assessments were conducted successfully in the Karunya
Examination Platform and several practice sessions were conducted regularly by the
CTC and queries related to technical difficulties have been addressed.

Points to Remember during the Examination:


A. Before Commencement of the Examination:
1. The portal will be enabled 15 minutes before the schedule of the Examination
for the students to login.
2. You are required to get ready with the Laptop/iPad and ensure uninterrupted
power supply, internet connectivity and the required bandwidth to complete
the examination.
3. Make sure there is sufficient lighting in the place for proper recognition of
your face.
4. You are required to be dressed appropriately as the examination is proctored.
5. Make sure there is no other person/device in the place.
6. The duration of the Online Examination is 2 hours as communicated earlier.

B. During the process of Examination:


1. Follow the procedure for face recognition, scan the photo ID card issued by
KITS / Government of India and set right technical issues if any by referring
to the FAQ in the lockdown browser.
2. A separate help desk is operating at CTC to provide technical support in
assisting students using the Online Karunya Examination Platform.
3. The exam will commence exactly at the stipulated time and the portal will
remain open for 2 hours.
4. Check the Course code and Title before answering the questions.

5. The pattern of question paper is Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and the
number of questions - 50. There shall not be any negative marking in
evaluation.
6. The system generated questions and choices are shuffled for every student.
7. The questions may be answered in the order of appearance or at random and
can be corrected if necessary before submission.
8. Scientific calculator is enabled in the browser for your use.
9. Students who finish the examination before the stipulated time, should
submit the answers and exit the portal as per the instructions.
10. The online examinations will be monitored through AI based remote
proctoring system and scrutinized by a committee of faculty members.
11. Avoid any kind of malpractice such as talking to others, use of any other
devices, moving out of camera etc. during the examination. Students involved
in malpractice will be disqualified and disciplinary action will be initiated as
per norms.
12. In the event of any unforeseen interruption during the exam, students need
not panic as the Examination Platform is programmed to save the questions
attempted before any abrupt shutdown. However, such students can re-login
and continue the examination following the procedure.

C. After the completion of Examination:


1. Please check if all the questions have been answered before submitting.
2. Save the answers and close the portal as instructed before exiting the
Examination Platform.
Note:
1. For any technical difficulty during login and for interruptions during the exam,
send an email to examsupport@karunya.edu for technical support.
2. For students who are unable to appear for the online examination in spite of the
technical assistance provided by the Institute an alternate written examination
will be conducted on campus soon after classes resume as communicated earlier.
