LUX LEVEL CALCULATION

Lighting Lux Level guidelines recommended by CIBSE, Lighting

DATA ENTRY LIGHT FIXTURE SPECIFICATION

Type of indoor lamp fixture : 48W LED Lamp 48 Watts

Luminous Flux per Lamp (S) : 4900 lumen (each LED light)
Location of installation (Room) :

𝑵 𝒙 𝑺 𝒙 𝒖𝒇 𝒙 𝒎𝒇 10 4500 0.7 0.85

E= 262.89
𝑨 101.85

𝑬𝒙𝑨 0 101.85
𝑵= 0.00 0.00
𝑺 𝒙 𝒖𝒇 𝒙 𝒎𝒇 4500 0.7 0.85

Substituting the given values on the above equation;

E: Lux Total Overall Load (W): 480 Watt

𝑵: 10 No. of Lights Lighting Power Density: 4.71 W/m²

𝑺: 4500 Lumen Total luminous flux: 45000 Lumen

A: 101.85 (m²) Area of Room(LxW)

𝒖𝒇: 0.7 utilization factor

𝒎𝒇: 0.85 maintenance factor

Therefore;

E= 262.89 lux for with 4500 lumen of 10 nos. 48W LED Lamp

Notes:

𝒖𝒇: is the proportion of the luminous flux emitted by the lamps which reaches the working plane.
(a) light output ratio of luminaire. (b) flux distribution of luminaire.

𝒎𝒇: The ratio of illumination on a given area after a period of time to the initial illumination on the same area ; used in lighting
calculations to account for the depreciation of lamps or reflective surfaces (or the like). also see light loss factor.

Lux: The lux (symbol: lx) is the SI derived unit of illuminance and luminous emittance, measuring luminous flux per unit area.
[1] It is equal to one lumen per square metre (Illuminance)

Lumen: a measure of the total quantity of visible light emitted by a source (Luminous flux, luminous power)
