LIGHT INDUSTRIAL PARKS
Developers oJ light industrial complexes today
want to create a park or campus type setting
to increase occupancy rates. These "parks"
are well landscaped w;th low rise buildings
and multiple small parking lots to ensure a
pleasing environment. The Supra-L},4e's
sparkling appearance and superior
optical performance is perfect for these
settings because it eliminates the need for
a forest ol poles while maintaininq the
architectural context. The Mini Supra-Lyte can
be used on walkways and at building entrances
for site continuity.

HOSPITALS
Parking areas for hospitals require high
horizontal and vertical lighting levels. People
come and go at all hours of the day and night
and need to feel and be as safe at midnight as
they are at noon. The Supra-L).te's large and
highly efficient reflectors produce the high
uniform horizontal levels needed while
producing good vertical loolcandles allowing
people to identify potential dangers. Many
hospitals have parking decks as well as
surface parking, here Wide-Lite's Spectra-L!,te
garage luminaire is a perfect companion unit
for the Supra-L,.te.

NETAIL CENTERS
The Supra-Ly,te is the perfect choice for lighting
retail center parking lots. lt features the sparkle
oI an "outdoor chandeliel' that draws people
to the site, along with superior lighting to make
people feel safe. Many retail centers have at
least one store with high night time activity
after the rest of the center's stores have closed.
When Supra-Lytes are used, the areas with
high activity, using 1000 watt iuminaires, can
maintain the same spacings as the low activity
areas, using 400 watt luminaires, making
the entire site look balanced. For greater
flexibility, Bi-Level switching can be used
to save energy by switching to lower light
levels during off-peak hours.

WIDE-LITE, PO. BOX 606, SAN MARCOS, TEXAS 78667, (512) 392-582'l, http://light-link.com/wide-lite/
WALKWAYS & BIKEWAYS
Lighting for walkways and bikeways should
create a safe and aesthetically pleasing
environment. Safety should be enhanced in
terms of traffic tlow and visibiliry Therefore,
the site plan should include fixtures at every
intersection, sharp curve and major elevation
change to minimize chances for mishap. The
main objectives in lighting for personal salety
are identification ot other pedestrians or
bicyclists, and eliminating dark areas around
palhways where real or perceived personal
threats can lie. The Mini Supra-Lyte ideally
addresses these considerations with good
lighting of vertical sudaces to illuminate
individuals, and Type V distribution io light
surrounding areas.

PEDESTRIAN MALLS

llrrH
lr The Mini Supra-Lyte is an exceptional lighting

hn solution for pedestrian malls. lts appearance

(which recalls an outdoor street lamp), and
niE
its superior optical design lends itself to an
l tnrl environment of uniform lighting with fewer
fixtures, and no aesthetic compromise.
Unlike many other fixtures, the Mini Supra-Lyte
is a cut-off luminaire, was'ting no up-light,
and producing the vertical i'luminance
needed to identify other pedestrians and
any potential hazards.

CAMPUS AREAS
Campus lighting is a combination of walkways,
pedestrian malls and parking lots. Campus
walkways often require added consideration for
stairways, which should be treated as areas of
high mishap potential, requiring fixtures to be
placed nearby. Plazas, large gathering areas
and major walkway intersections need good,
unilorm lighting, while parking areas require
illumination from higher wattage luminaires at
greater heights. The Supra-Lyte family meets
these mixed needs with design continuity
from one application to the next.
