Mutual Fund Company/Investment Company refers to an investment company that pools the funds of
many individual and institutional investors to form a massive asset base.
Fund Manager refers to a person who is entrusted with the mutual fund company’s assets and develops
and maintains a diversified portfolio of security investments.
Investment Advisor is tasked to render services which include investment research and advise; the
preparation of economic, industry, market, corporate end security analysis; and. assistance and
recommendation in the formulation of investment guidelines.

Mutual Fund Representative / Broker / Distributor refers to a person engaged in the business of selling
mutual funds to potential clients.

Investor refers to a person who buys shares of a mutual fund and are its owners or shareholders.

Domestic Mutual Funds (DMFs) are mutual funds incorporated domestically and invested in
local/domestic assets only. These funds are mainly classified as money market, pure equity, pure fixed
income and balanced funds.
Step-up provision refers to additional investment fund allocated to renewed (accreditation) DMF
management companies as incentive to good prior investment return relative to benchmarks and
performance of other accredited investment companies.

Net Asset Value Per Share (NAVPS) is the computed difference between the total assets of the fund and
its total liabilities divided by the number of shares outstanding. It used as the pricing mechanism for
mutual funds since shares are redeemed at net asset value.
