a) Over the years, I have written several Letters to the Editors of the Marine Corps
Gazette, Navy Times, and Marine Corps Times. I do not recall the topics but
have no reason to believe they related to anything of significance beyond the
military.
b) I have provided several interviews to Quad City area newspapers and television
stations related to cases pending against clients. I do not have any copies of these
interviews.

11. Public Office, Political Activities and Affiliations:

I have never run for office or worked for any political party or election committee. I
have also never worked for a political campaign, advertised for a candidate, or donated to
any campaign.

12. Teaching:

I have never taught in any formal school setting, but I have been a coach for several
Junior High School mock trial teams, assisted in coaching the St. Ambrose University
mock trial team in 2006-2007, and have spoken to several pre-law student gatherings
regarding legal careers.

I have filed all required income tax returns.

15. Judicial I deology:

As a currently serving Marine Corps officer, I believe it would be improper for me to


outline my ideology with the specificity requested in this question.

I have taken an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States and
follow the orders of the President. Whether I agree with who occupies the White House,
which Party controls Congress, or what decisions are made by the Supreme Court is
irrelevant; I have sworn to uphold the laws of this country, so should refrain from public
comment.
