PSR Registration for all

the guests at the First Light Shelter:

deodorant, Depends, plastic spoons and forks,
paper plates and bowls, instant cereal pkgs.,
instant hot chocolate pkgs.
The above items may be left at the OLS Church
Office, Monday through Friday between the hours
of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.. Call Jeannette Bell at

quarterly luncheon will be held Wednesday,

Mary Snow to speak at Magnificat

Mary Snow, a parishioner of Holy Spirit Catholic
Church in Tuscaloosa is the featured speaker for
our August Magnificat Meal. She is a petite,
enthusiastic, dynamic person who has stories to
tell of growing up in Rural Alabama and the many
life-changing events that have occurred in her
faith journey with God. Please come and bring a
friend with you to be with Mary as she shares her
life of adventure with God. The Magnificat Prayer
Breakfast will be held Saturday, August 23rd, at St

Cursillo School of Leaders
In an effort to make the School of Leaders more
accessible to Cursillistas throughout the Diocese
of Birmingham, the Cursillo Movement will
conduct its August meeting of the School of
Leaders at the Cathedral of Saint Paul Life
Center in Birmingham. This meeting will be held
on Saturday, August 16th. As usual, the meeting
will begin at 9:30 a.m. and conclude at 11:45 a.m.
with a visit to the Blessed Sacrament.
Cub Scouts
Cub Scouting molds its activities around the
family. Parents can help with projects and
advancement programs at home. Cub Scouts
meet in small den groups and monthly pack
meetings for fun and games, skits, ceremonies
and recognition. Cub Scouting is “Fun with
Purpose” which capitalizes on a young boy’s
interests. Camping and other outdoor activities
are also part of the fun! Cub Scouting builds self-
esteem, self-confidence and a sense of
belonging. Don’t let your boy miss the

Knights Youth Football Registration
Knights Youth Football exists to foster the
physical, mental, and spiritual development of
children in the Diocese of Birmingham through
the game of football. Any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade
child that attends parochial school or is a
member of the Diocese of Birmingham is eligible
to play. If you are interested in playing, our first
practice will be on August 11th at 5:30 p.m. at the
John Carroll High School softball field. Please
bring plenty of water to drink and wear shorts, tee
shirt and football cleats. Registration cost is

Men’s Evening of Reflection will be held on
Thursday, August 21st, at 6:45 p.m. at St. Peter’s
Catholic Church in Hoover. There will be
exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, and
Benediction, Confessions will be heard during the
period of recollection which allows time for
personal prayer and reflection. Afterward, we will
