Dear Prime Minister

Subject: Regarding cancellation of Medical, Dental, Ayurvedic and Unani UG, PG exams in India.

Dear Sir,

With respect to above mentioned subject we want to draw your attention to the panic situation among
the all healthcare faculty students in India.

All students agree on the fact that final exams are important in view of issuing degree by health
Universities as these students are future healthcare workers who are going to work for health and
diseases of patients in India. This responsibility itself make them awake towards the situation as those
patients may be from their family as well as source of their livelihood.

So in consideration of COVID -19 situation if universities force them to give exam and even if single
student is exposed to infection he or she may act as a "Corona time-bomb" as these exams will
continued for more than week. This is simply humiliation of students and families.

Now one issue which has been significantly stressed by Universities, MCI, DCI and other bodies is future
of those students who want to opt for courses in foreign universities or want to appear for PhD or jobs in
private or government sector.

So government can decide a common criteria to give provisional result, degree and registration number
in entire India so that they will face a common race in future in India and if anyone wants to opt for
foreign universities those students can appear for upcoming exams after 6 months in winter or along
with next year regular batch.

Cancellation of exam will relieve our stress as well as provisional degree will improve number of
healthcare workers to fight against corona situation.

These healthcare workers can get evaluated by respective governing bodies to renew their registration
on clinical and practical knowledge based exams (like foreign countries) in future.

Consider this letter as humble request from all students as we are your childrens. It will give immense
relief to all students and their families.

Thank you

Regards

All exam going healthcare students

PROBLEMS FACED BY STUDENTS
1. No study material due to sudden lockdown situation
2. Some students are staying in areas which are sealed area
3. In some areas travelling is still restricted
4. Hotspot areas students required government permission for travelling even
for smaller distance
5. Some students are as now infected so they are quarantine/under care in
hospitals, thus not getting time for preapartion

COLLEGE AND UNIVERISTY LEVEL ISSUES

1. All students at home now, so going back to college/ hostels is problem
2. College / hostel facilities have not enough to quarantine facilities for
students
3. If they make it available, mess issues will still be there. Providing food at
separately for students not available by colleges
4. Some students not stay at hostels, the area where they are staying is near
covid centers/ even that area is not allowing migratory students to stay at
same place due to fear of COVID
5. Some colleges are still covid centers
6. Traveling by public transport is still risky
7. Private vehicle use not allowed in some areas and every student don’t
have private vehicle, asking parents to drop at center will risk their lives
also, will you take responsibility for that?

EXAM RELATED PROBLEMS

1. Gathering for exam at same center will put any students at high risk of
getting infected
2. Students from hotspot area, if they choose center in their area it is still
risky for them
3. Students residing in sealed area how they will travel to centers?
4. In those area they require to take permission from government
5. If single student is infected and won’t reveal that because of fear
of not being able to appear for exam again it will risk many
students lives and even examiners
6. What about students who get infected during exam? What about
their degree?
7. Some centers which have given in respected areas are still under
Red Zone

REGARDING THEORY AND PRACTICAL

EXAM
1. Students don’t have sufficient study material
2. Centers are not there in every student area, many students still have
to migrate for same
3. While theory/practical exams, putting mask, gloves, PPEs and
other precautionary measures and writing papers or giving vivas is
most difficult task for students because they are not use to it
4. Going to theory exam center is still a task for many students
5. Social distancing will be problem as many students are appearing
6. To buy all protective measures all students are not financially
stable
7. All protective measures are not easily available in nearby places
for all students
8. For different branches practical exams required patient preparation
a month before according to our syllabus (require 5/6 visits)
9. If students are choosing nearby exam centers, is it mandatory for
student to appear at same place for both theory and Practical? If
yes, in such case all students don’t have their practical material
(instruments, all patient records, photographs etc ) with them, it is
at their respective colleges.
10.If practical exam centers are not their current college center, What
will be the format for practical in same situation? From where they
will get their patients.
11.Even if students are not using motor instruments, there are also
higher chances of aerosol production, because during exam patient
have to keep their mouth open, if patient sneezes/cough so it will
lead to production of aerosol.
12.Students at present under exam tension, so practicing PPE use is
not easy for everyone. It will immensely affect the performance of
patient.
13.Availability of PPEs and their costing right now is very high for
students.
14.Now for exam many students are appearing so if everyone buys
PPE it will create shortage and many students again left without
PPE

IMP QUESTIONS (WITH WRITTEN CONSENT)

1. Exam notice which have been circulated on MUHS site , in which 12th June
is cut off datefor center. Is it applicable for MDS students? If Yes, what will
be format with their Practicals?
2. Who will bear the cost of patients and respected doctors testing and
precautionary measures? All students are not financially stable.
3. What if student get infected during exam/on day of exam/a day/2 before
exam. Who will take responsibility for same?
4. Will our medical bills be taken care of and will our families be taken care of
if anything fatal happens?
5. If further lockdown gets strict and students stuck at hostel whose
responsibility it will be to get that student back to their home safely?
6. If exams get postpone, many students have taken education loan which they
have to repay at end of year, who will pay that?
7. If further exams postpone chances of unemployment crisis.
8. Who will be responsible if any asymptomatic student returns back home
after exams
And the family members turn positive because of them?

STUDENTS DEMANDS
1. Judge us on 8 years of work (Academic and practicals – JC,
Seminar,National Presentations, Publications, Clinical work,
dissertation). We have already given NEET to come at this level
2. Preferred online exams as it will minimize all risk factors and is
convinient for every student.
