Good afternoon’ and welcome everyone to the first interview of ‘’Talks with marcatto’’ space proposed by

the members of the ensemble with the interest of sharing experiences of great interpreters and young
teachers (professors) in their careers with the audience, today as our especial guest we have the teacher,
violinist and violist Greg from Lynchburg Virginia, United States. He agreed to share his knowledge and
bring us closer to the role of musicians in times of pandemic.

Hi Greg, Welcome to ‘’Talks with Marcatto’’

How Are you?

I’m glad to hear that. Let’s talk a little.

I have seen (I’ve seen) your videos two years ago or so, I greatly admire the pedagogical work that you
have carried out from your instagram giving advice to all your teaching followers and some ways to
assume the role of teacher with young children in general.

Taking this into account I would like to ask you:

- What led you to choose music as a life project?

- What led you to become a teacher?
- Talking about the actual situation the world is facing, What positive and negative experiences do
you find in online classes?
- Where does your creativity come from to effectively teach children?
- What advice would you give teachers today to better develop their work?

Thanks Greg for your advice, I’m sure that many of those who attended this ‘’Talks with Marcatto’’
appreciate your advice and will be attentive to putting it into practice in their work. Changing the subject a
little, I have greatly admire your career as an interpreter, we have seen you doing performances together
with great pianists in local auditoriums playing also great repertoire for viola and violin.

Thinking about all this and the preparation it requires:

- How do you take up your time? (I mean) How do you organize your time to achieve effectiveness
and precision?
- Why did you choose both instruments (Viola and Violin) and not just one?
- What projects as an interpreter do you have in the future?

Thank you very much for your answers and your time Greg, you have been very kind with us today and
we hope this actual situation gets betters that way we can analyze possibilities of bringing musicians as
interesting as you to our country.

To finish our talk, I would like to know more about the situation in your country, musically speaking in time
of pandemic and the regular demonstration of rejecting the systematic racism.

- How are musicians facing the situation in the USA?

- What role do musicians have in time of crisis?
- Do you think music can become a channel of protest against segregation and racism?
- How do you see the panorama of black community members in music?

Once again, I thank you for your kindness and disposition with which you treated us and we hope to have
you near Marcatto very soon. To all our attendees, we appreciate your attention and stay close as we will
have many other surprises to share. Don’t forget to share your contributions with the Hashtag

Happy evening and thank you all very much.
