The Wren Collective, a criminal and social justice advising firm, is seeking to add an

experienced attorney to our team. We are a group of criminal justice experts who have
spent time in the trenches, first as public defenders and later producing policies,
legislation, and advocacy campaigns for both elected officials and grassroots groups
across the country. Now, we use that expertise to assist those who want to radically
change this country’s unjust and unfair criminal legal system. We work with elected
officials, candidates for office, professional athletes, and grassroots and grasstops
organizations to advise on policy creation and implementation, campaign strategy, and
effective communications. We only work with clients committed to making this system
less carceral and more humane.

Wren is a collective, in name and in function. Our attorneys work closely together and
make decisions jointly about which projects to take on, how to proceed, and what makes
sense for our clients strategically. We, to the extent possible, distribute work based on
the specific interests and talents of our members.

We are a growing firm, and, depending on level of experience, the new member will help
guide Wren’s future, bring in new ideas and projects, and examine other growth
opportunities.

Desired qualifications:
● Experience in criminal justice and or police reform work. This can include direct
client representation—all current members of Wren were public defenders – or
extensive policy and research experience;
● Strong writing skills;
● Campaign experience;
● Communications experience;
● Ability to travel (when safe);
● Willingness to work remotely;
● A passion to end mass incarceration and the racist and unequal criminal legal
system

Compensation range, 85K - 120K per year, depending on experience.

We are likely to form a 501(c)(3) project in the near future, so candidates who must be
employed by a non-profit entity in order to qualify for student loan forgiveness should
not hesitate to apply.
