Summary of Text
In “The Carp” Rosetsu dreams of becoming the greatest
painter in all of Japan but finds himself doubting his talents
and never finishes a painting. When he sees the spirit and
determination of a carp, Rosetsu studies and works harder
than ever and becomes the painter he dreamed of.
In “The Hermit Thrush” Hayate loves playing the saxophone
but wants to quit because he struggles playing music he is
learning. When he hears the beautiful singing of a hermit
thrush, Hayate decides to play from his heart and creates a
beautiful song.
