1. Why films are only in 24 frames per second (fps)?

- It is only 24 fps because this is a standard for movies and TV stations. It
was determined to be the minimum speed needed to capture while still
maintaining realistic motion. Even if a film is shot at a higher frame rate,
it’s often produced and displayed at 24fps.
2. Why is there a need for the use of soundproofing materials for the
construction of broadcasting studios?
- Radio and TV stations require premium sound quality for broadcasting.
Controlling the echoes within the broadcast room happens when sound
panels are introduced into space. Once the echoes are captured from the
studio with the sound panels, greater clarity to original sound is restored,
and a crisp broadcast signal is produced. The key to studio soundproofing
and maximizing the quality of your broadcast signal is to reduce and
eliminate the echo.
3. Why does live television have delays in broadcasting of up to several
seconds?
- Most people think the reason why live television has some delay is so that
they can censor something if something innapropriate was shown. The
real reason is no live television is actually live. The reason is distance. The
tv camera takes the picture which is then transferred to the mobile control
room, after that it’s transferred to the TV company’s central studio room
via microwaves. The different feeds are mixed and are sent to the
transmitters, afterwards it’s sent to our receivers. While those distances
are small it adds up resulting in a couple of seconds being delayed.
4. What is the difference between digital and analog tv channels?
- The big difference between Analog and Digital is how the signal is
transmitted from the source to the TV in your home. Analog televisions
transmit audii and video signals over the airwaves in a manner similar to a
radio signal. Each station has a single frequency over which to brosdcsst
its analog television signal. A Digital TV signal, on the other hand,
transmits in "packets" of compressed data. The data uses 1's and 0's,
similar to your computer, DVD player, and internet. Because of this, digital
signals do not experience the same interference, or signal loss, that
analog TV signals do.
5. Why is AM preferred over FM broadcasting the picture signal?
- If FM is adopted for picture transmission, the changing beat frequency
between the multiple paths delayed with the respect to each other would
develop a bar interference in the image with a shimmering effect as the
bars continuously changes as the beat frequency changes therefore, no
study picture is produced. Apart from that, circuit complexity and BW
requirements are much less in AM than FM. Hence, AM if preferred over
FM in picture signal
6. Why did the FCC (50,50) got its name?
- It was based on probability data gathered where the results are true for
atleast 50% of the receivers on atleast 50% of the time, hence the name
(50,50).
