Over this deposits are a group of tobas derivate of the piroclastic eruption of the
Malinche volcano located to the northeast from the zone of study, as well as
alluvial and lacustric deposits from the quaternary.
Regionally, the geologic structures are in five big blocks and alignments; the main
one for our study is the Bloque de Puebla delimitated by the Falla de Huejotzingo
to the north and south because the alignment of the position of the cineritic cones.

TOPOGRAPHY
Regionally the zone of study is between two big mountainous formations: the
Malinche volcano and the Sierra Nevada and between them is the alluvial running
Amozoc formed by deposits of quite thickness.
The relief in this area is represented by small elevations to the south of the zone of
study and lightly to uniform plane as is getting close to the area of interest.
With a height of 2178 meters over the sea level, with a temperate subhumid
weather and a medium annual temperature of 15.1ºC, the zone of study according
to physiographical characteristics presents litosol soil.

HIDROLOGY
The zone of study belongs to Región Hidrográfica Río Balsas, with a medium
annual precipitation between 800 and 1000 millimeters. To the south is one of the
most important superficial running of the zone Atoyac River while this is the
drainage for waste water of the capital.
The zone of study is between the Valle de Puebla Aquifer, this is surrounded in a
alluvial and volcanic sequence, characterized by a good quality in the water with
thickness from approximately 10 to 200 meters to the central zone of the valley.
This aquifer receives underground recharges coming from the high part of the
basin, mainly La Malinche y la Sierra Nevada; under this depth is the thermal
sulphurous aquifer which has been infiltrating sulphides to the aquifer because of
the over exploitation of it, its depth of static level is about of 120m with a flow
direction south- southeast.
