PERIOD CONTENT

1 Explanation-
Recapitulation
The class will be started with recap of introduction of how to
locate a point and describe the position of a point on the line
using mind map. Mind Map Extra Marks will be explained in the
class.

2 Explanation-
The position of any object lying in a plane can be represented with
the help of two perpendicular lines. One of them is horizontal and
the other is vertical
C.W. Ex-3.1
3 Explanation-
• Introduction to Cartesian plane
• Define ordered pair (a,b).
• Coordinate Geometry- A system of geometry in which the
position of points on the plane is described using an ordered
pair of numbers.
• Coordinate plane- The plane which holds the coordinate
axes
• Convention of signs –
I quadrant : X value: +ve and Y value :+ve
II quadrant : X value: -ve and Y value :+ve
III quadrant : X value: -ve and Y value :-ve
IV quadrant : X value: +ve and Y value :-ve
4 Explanation-
The X coordinate of a point is its perpendicular distance from the y
axis measured along the X axis. The X coordinate is also called the
abscissa
The Y coordinate of a point is its perpendicular distance from the X
axis measured along the Y axis. The y coordinate is also called the
ordinate.

Activity -
Class Work ORAL: Introduction to linear equations in two variables.

A linear equations in two variables has infinitely many solutions

The graph of every linear equation in two variables is a straight
line.
x=0 is the equation of the y axis and y =0 is the equation of the x
axis

1 Explanation-
Recapitulation
The class will be started with a recap of introduction to linear
equations to two variables, so that children get the clarity for
linear equation of the type ax+ by +c =0 ,where a,b,c are real
numbers , and a and b are not both zero ,using extra marks mind
map .
2 Explanation-
The solution of a linear equation is not affected when
i) the same number is added to or subtracted from both
the sides of the equation.
ii) you multiply or divide both the sides of the equation by the
same non zero number
