Iridium Certus Simple user guide to change IP and load config file

Step 1

Connecting to PC for configuring

Please connect the Iridium Certus to a Stand alone PC or Laptop

Connection to the PC : Pl follow the below Procedure

Step 2

Open the Command Prompt

Type the Command “ipconfig” then enter, It will show you the IP address

As below

IPv4 address : 192.168.0.3 or the last digit may differ)

Sub net mask : 255.255.255.0

Gateway address :192.168.0.1

Step 3: Need to change PC’s IP address (Must change the PC IP address)

Go to Control Panel – Double click on Network and Sharing

Click on Change adaptor settings

Double click on Ethernet

Double click on Internet Protocol version4 (TCP/IPv4)

Set The following IP address

IP address : 192.168.0.10

Sub net : 255.255.255.0

Gateway : Leave blank

Step4 : Checking the Firware version and upload the Firmware version

Open any browser ( try not with firefox)

Type http://192.168.0.3

IF the firmware version is 1.03 build 322 or newer

Please proceed to load KVH network configuration given in Step 5
IF the firmware version is Older than 1.03 Build 322. Please contact Stationsatcom support for the
newer version of the firmware and procedure to load the firmware

Step 5:Loading the KVH Config:

Go to Administration and log in as user name: admin pw: refer the label in the BDU

Will ask to change the password. Please don’t change the password.

Then Go to Export/Import config

Load the config file given by KVH

File name “bdu_settings_kvh_ (numbers).cfg)

Choose the file from your location and click upload

Once uploaded unit will reboot.

Once System is ready:

Please ensure that you can access the web interface via http://192.168.0.3
Step 6: Connecting Iridium Certus to KVH IC2M

Connect to the KVH IC2m Port 4 from Iridium Certus Lan Port 3

LAN port 3

In any case not able to get IP address or not able to open the Iridium certus web interface

Please try factory reset on the Iridium Certus terminal then follow the above steps

Step 7: Testing the Commbox interface

Open the network PC Which is connected to the KVH VSAT

Master has to login to commbox. Open the browser (Use Firefox Bowser) and type
http://192.168.8.1/cbx with
USERNAME: master
PASSWORD: M@ster19!
Below Screen will appear (VSAT in Blue and Iridium in Green)

Iridium Back up configuration is successfull

Iridium Certus Factory reset Procedure

Please use a Small Pin to press the rest button. Please press and hold the reset button for 30 secs.

You wiil see the Iridium Certus will reboot.
