A. FOUNDATION is a base upon which any structure stands; a strong foundation makes a system
firmly established and serves its purpose well. Below are concerns that refer to specific
foundations (Psychological, Historical, Philosophical, Anthropological, Sociological, Legal).
Identify each item as to their area of concern; write your answers on the opposite column

B. Read and analyze the following. Explain very briefly their influence to education.
1. The history of one’s country can affect its educational system and the kind of curriculum it has.
2. Educators, curriculum makers and teachers adopt philosophies that are believed to be vital for
planning, implementing, and evaluating a school curriculum.
3. Curriculum should adapt to the needs of an individual.
4. Psychology offers information about the teaching-learning process; seeks answers as to how a
curriculum can be organized to achieve students’ learning at the optimum level.
5. There is a mutual and encircling relationship between society and curriculum because the school
exists within the societal context.
