Beautiful Sacrament

Procreation and union are the two magnificent products of the most beautiful sacrament-marriage.
Marriage is a covenant between baptized man and woman with an intimate union with love and life that
is indissoluble and exclusive. But why do people ages 18-49 do not engage to the sacredness of
matrimony?

According to the demographics in 2017, 18 percent of ages 18-49 neglected to have marriages. How
could this be happen? Maybe the first reason is through economic factor- low income, no budget, waste
of money etc. But this should not be the reason to not have marriage because it is free. Second, maybe
is that, they don’t have the blessings of their love from their family-parents wont accept the fact that
their children is going to marry or won’t accept the man or the woman. And thirdly, maybe because they
don’t want to be committed with each other and so with God. Again, these should not be the hindrance
in having this matrimony because, marriage is the gateway to the very purpose of life which is to be

In the letter of Paul to the Ephesians, husband’s love your wives as Jesus love His Church, this grace that
bestowed to the couple, perfects human love, strengthens the indissolubility of union and sanctifies on
the way of eternal life. Really marriage is a blessing for us.

It is said as well that marriage is a mutual agreement to live in a covenant life with a fruitful blessing.
Through marriage there is what we call consent between partners wherein a man does not owns the
body of the woman and vice versa but their bodies are shared between them. Unlike in cohabitating, the
man can abuse the body of the woman without even her permission – in short it is devastating.
Moreover, through the consent of both parties then they will a covenant life in which- like the vows in
marriage “in sickness and in health, for better or for worst, for richer or for poorer, etc”, they will be
held liable for each other. Unlike in cohabitation, there is a tendency that one of them would give up
their relationship. Upon achieving this covenant life, an offspring will sprout, and this the fruit of love
and marriage which is the child. Internalizing with these words, man and woman really and must have
marriage for procreation and union.

People that do not engage marriage that are now cohabitating maybe considering in the back of their
minds of marriage sooner or later. But the longer the years of cohabitation may result of neglecting the
sacredness of marriage so it is for the better that at this moment of time, if man and woman really love
each other and they are now in the perfect time, then don’t hesitate and yet procreate through the
Union with God.

Truly, marriage is the most beautiful sacrament that were given to us by the Almighty. All people may
not be married because of the different calling of life, but the mere fact, that almost all people wanted
to undergo and receive the grace and conversion of MARRIAGE.
