(Hope- Oneness –Merciful - Empathy)

In this trying times, every one of us stayed at our home with our family. This is the most
perfect gift to us by this pandemic – reconciling and living with our loved ones, truthfully and lovely.
This paper intends to share what is the sociological theory that works in our family. Additionally, this
paper aims to make justification on my prior essay. And finally, I would like to share some instances
that I will do to make our family life better.

Before anything else, the FUNCTIONALITY THEORY is the most appropriate theory for our
family. It is because in this theory, it discusses the different tasks done by the different members of
the family and why do every members of the family must do their distinct functions to make the
family a family. HOPE – the first function in our home. Wonder why? Hope signifies my mom and my
mom is the light in our family. My mom works as a mother that cares for her children – thinking our
sake all the time, doing her best to make us better individuals, teaching us different life lessons, and
loving us unconditionally. These things are the function of my mom inside our home. Oneness
symbolizes my dad as he is the foundation of the family and so he must be strong to hold us up with
his united being. My dad works as a father for being the provider of our needs like food, house
materials, repairing and more other things and sometimes wants as well in the family. Being the
provider by simply considering our needs and wants, have been making us one whole family is the
greatest function of my dad inside our home. Merciful, this is us, the children in the family. Merciful
in a way that, we always think the sacrifices of our parents and see this as an inspiration to do our
part so that in the future we may be able to give back more what they gave to us. Merciful in way
that, we tend to help them in different tasks that we think we are capable of like washing our
clothes, sometimes cooking, cleaning the house and other household chores. By simply doing these
things, it makes the workload of our parents be reduced and so that they could rest more. This is our
sole duty as children of the family. Lastly, Empathy symbolizes our family. We are not only obligated
for our own selves within the four corners of the house but rather, we always keep in our mind that
we have neighbours to share our blessings and to have compassion to them. What I will do to make
our family life better is simply buy being a good, humble and respectful son and sibling in the family.
As the youngest the family, I will always make them smile with my naughtiness and I will always pray
so that the harmony in the family will never go away.

This pandemic really is a life changing. It brought a lot of reflections for us most especially in
our family. Functionality theory justifies why our family became more family.
