SETTING THE VISION, MISSION, PHILISOPHY, GOALS, AND OBJECTIVES

VISION

The vision of lumc is formulated and geared towards the future role and
function of the institution. The medical center strives to provide quality tertiary
medical and surgical care for the people most especially those who resides in la
union and to provide an atmosphere of competent affordable compassionate
friendly and caring hospital environment. Concentrating on the four elements the
vision is written and posted on every ward in the institution and is in future tense
and focused on the condusive a=environment for the patient. After 2 weeks of
rotation in the medicalward we have observed that the environment is not
conducive to recovery due to low ventilation and inadequate space for each patient
but staff nurses seems to be approachable and shows a genuine concern to patients
conditions.

MISSION

OUTLINES THE AGENCY’S REASON FOR EXISTING (WHETHER HOSPITAL OR


HEALTH CARE), WHO THE TARGET CLIENTS ARE (THE POOR, THE NEEDY, THE
MIDDLE OR UPPER CLASS), AND WHAT SERVICES WILL BE PROVIDED (IN-PATIENT,
OUT-PATIENT, EMERGENCY)

Standards for the evaluation of mission statement:

The mission statement tells the reason for the existence of the organization.

The statement indicates that the organization exist to provide a public good.

The mission statement is developed by the people who live by it.

It includes a set of core values held by the people who will live by it.

It is short, clear, and unambiguous; it has a clear meaning.

The mission statement describes the organization’s uniqueness.

Questions to be answered by a group charged with development of the mission:

What do we stand for?


What principles or values are we willing to defend?

Who to help?

ORGANIZATION AND THE REASON BEHIND ITS STRUCTURE AND GOALS.

A SPECIFIC AIM OR TARGET THAT AN ORGANIZATION WISHES TO ATTAIN WITHIN
