VISHESH

INT. ROOM - NIGHT

VISHESH is sitting by his desk, reading. the room is

completely dim with only a small lamp on the desk lighting
him. behind him , there is his brother sleeping on bed while
playing with his phone.

BROTHER
yenthasepu chaduvuthav raa
rendayindhi!

vishesh doesnt respond.

BROTHER
poddunnunchi chadhuvuthunnav
kadha? aapu ink--

the door opens. brother throws his phone away and pretend to
be asleep. his mother emerges from the door.

MOTHER
orey babu yentha sepu
chadhuvuthav raa.. velli
poduko... choodu nee thammudu
yentha manchigaa podukunnado..

cut to - his brother “sleeping”

VISHESH
(as if muttering to himself)
ayipovocchindhi..... yinkaaasepe.

MOTHER
sarey ventene kaani... nenu
poduko daaniki velthunna..

his mother goes away. brother slightly raises his head to

check. then, he takes the phone and starts playing with it
again.

close-up - Vishesh’s face, engrossed in reading, turning

pages, mouthing and muttering the notes.............

cut to -

from vishesh’s back. he’s still reading, turning pages,

muttering the words except it’s now early morning. we dont
see his face

he gets up closing his book. CUT TO -

top angle - bed. his brother is sleeping. vishesh falls on

the bed with his face turned towards it. he tries to sleep,
shifting his positions various times. a girl comes to his
mind in small knife like flashes......

slowly, the image fades to him in the class. he’s standing

in-front of his classmates near the teacher’s table.
the teacher is clapping very hardly along with the loud
clapping and cheering of the class.
vishesh stands here very proud with his chest raised high.

then, again fade to that girl that is seen before. vishesh,

from behind taps her shoulder and she looks back, suprised.

happily, they look into each others eyes and he shows her his
medal that’s around his neck and she kisses the medal... he
too kisses the medal and then they kiss each other with the
medal still in between their mouths--

fade to - vishesh sleeping. he’s humping his hip against the

bed. this goes on for some time........

VISHESH
(whispers tenderly)
nuvvu naa thone maatlaadali....
ramya.....naathone undaali.....
please vaaditho undamaaka...
adhikadhu..... i love you ardham
chesuko ramya.........

the camera pans and there is his brother watching him

humping.

ALARM CLOCK rings. Vishesh gets up and looks at his brother

looking at him. they both are silent.
extreme close-up - brother’s face.

extreme close-up - vishesh’s face... with big bags under his

eyes and very very very pale.

INT. DINING TABLE - MOMENTS LATER

Vishesh’s father and brother are eating idlis.

FATHER
vaadedi?

BROTHER
revise chesukuntunnadu daddy.

FATHER
yinka naa? (laughs)

BROTHER

FATHER

they both notices someone come hurriedly. it is vishesh. he

sits in one of the chairs with a book in his hand. his mother
comes and serves idlis to him.

he takes one idli and stuffs it in his mouth, his face facing
the book, still reading.

FATHER
arey thinee tappudaina book
pakkana padeyya raa.

vishesh looks up at them, face completely pale and big bags

under his eyes, the father and brother are almost scared by
him. his face shows a bit of crazziness

VISHESH
(still chewing)
yenti?

FATHER
thine tappudaina koncham aa --

vishesh gets up and takes his bag on his back.

VISHESH
sorry exam ki time avuthundhi.
bye.

he runs off. the father and brother complete their breakfast

in silence.

INT. COLLEGE CORRIDOR - LATER

the corridor is filled with students, busy and exciting like

how it is on an exam day, because its an exam day.

vishesh is walking with his hands and eyes on the book.

students behind and before him notices him walking.

he looks behind. there she is, the girl that came in his
dream, ramya. he smiles and goes to her.

RAMYA
hey!! yekkada varaku chadhivav?
first neekena yiisari?

VISHESH
choodham... yemo... raavochu..
kani yem raala yem cheyyamantav..

RAMYA
abba abbadhaalu aadamaaka...
ninnu choosthe ne

another fellow, RAKESH comes beside them. he smiles at ramya.

he turns to vishesh, smiling even more...

cut to timelapse of vishesh reading all night.

cut back to present.

RAKESH
book pattukunte ottu chepthunna.
mummy ki yedho pani unte chesaa--

cut to timelapse of rakesh reading. his mother comes and asks

him something. he says - VELLIPOOO EXAM UNDHI REPU!!!

cut back to present. vishesh smiles as if saying - i know

it’s a fucking lie.

RAKESH
yemo yii sari kooda first naake

yemo ....

vishesh looks at rakesh straight.

VISHESH
(still looking at rakesh)
yemo... ramya... yisaari first

now he turns to ramya

VISHESH
all the best.

vishesh walks away and again his eyes and hands are diverted
to the book.

INT. EXAM ROOM - MOMENTS LATER

he is seated in his place. looking at the desk sternly.

EXAMINER
economics vaallu nunchondi.

he is still seated in his seat and is looking at the desk.

someone whistles from front. he looks.

CLASSMATE
nuncho!!

he stands. the examiner gives him the question paper. he

sits.

he opens his pen cap. takes out his scale, pencil, eraser,
sharper from his pocket and puts it on the bench. now, he
takes a deep breath. he closes his eyes. again, takes a deep
breath. after sometime, he smiles and opens his eyes.

his face oozes confidence.

close-up - question paper. the camera tracks along the text

in the question paper.

cut to - vishesh’s face. confused. he reads out the questions

little bit loudly. his confidence vanishes and hopelessness
sets in.

he is frozen. fade to -

answer paper. he writes his name, roll no. etc etc and as he
is beginning to write the answer, he writes a sentence and
stops.

fade to - few moments later - vishesh’s face. completely

sweaty.

fade to - answer paper. he wrote only one para. one para

fade to - clock.

EXAMINER
five minutes more.

cut to vishesh’s face. he’s still frozen. tears start to come

slowly. he starts reading the question paper again.

he hears a whistle and looks forward.

CLASSMATE
yentemi raayala?
(looks around)
yidhigo theesko.

he hands him a small piece of paper. vishesh is shocked.

VISHESH
ammo voddhu...

he looks at the examiner who is pretty far away.

he considers. cut to -

he opens the paper and it is a micro-xerox. vishesh squints

his eyes to understand it properly and he begins to write.

he writes, writes and writes away...... a hopefull smile on

his face........ writing writing writing.....

a loud bang on his desk. he looks up. it’s the examiner.

everything is silent.

EXT. PRINCIPAL’S OFFICE - MOMENTS LATER

he is waiting in-front of the principal’s office. bell rings.

students are slowly coming out.

his head hangs low. the students are looking at him

strangely, some are laughing, some are speaking something but
everything is silent, he cant hear a thing.

an attender calls him and tells him to go inside. as he is

entering, he looks back and finds ramya and rakesh looking at
him shocked.

vishesh turns away his face and goes in.

INT. PRINCIPAL’S OFFICE - CONTINUOUS

the principal is shouting angrily. but vishesh can’t hear

anything. his face still hung low with tears flowing even
lower.

INT. BEDROOM - AFTERNOON.

vishesh opens the cupboard and looks at his mother’s clothes.

he takes out a red chunni and a blue chunni out.

he thinks for a while.

he throws away the blue chunni inside and goes off with the
red one.

INT. ROOM - CONTINUOUS

he ties the chunni around the fan while standing on a small

stool.

he makes the grip hard and then makes a round circle in which
he can inside his head. he inserts his head.

his phone rings. he takes it out os his pocket . ITS RAMYA!!

VISHESH
hahh??? huh???

the phone falls down and vishesh tries to reach for it but he
looses his balance. the stool falls and the noose around his
nech tightens and he is now hanged.

vishesh is struggling hard, with his hands around the noose

trying to escape. he shakes and rotates. shakes and rotates.
shakes and rotates.

the phone on the floor is still ringing. it goes on

vibrating. vibrating. vibrating.

the fan looses and slowly comes off the ceiling. off the
ceiling. off the ceiling. it falls off and as vishesh hits
the floor---

FADE IN

INT. HOSPITAL ROOM - DAY

vishesh is sleeping on the hospital bed. his right hand and

left leg are covered with PoP. his neck is plastered too.

he looks beside. his brother is playing on his phone. his

brother notices that vishesh is looking--

BROTHER
nii friends yevvaru raara.

and vishesh begins to cry. brother is weirded out.

someone knocks on the door. vishesh quicky with his right

hand rubs off the tears and maintains a blank look.

VISHESH
yippudu choodu.

brother opens the door.

and rakesh goes out. ramya sits on a chair beside him.

VISHESH

avuna vishesh!!???

vishesh blushes. they speak for some more time.... while

happy romantic music is on high volume and their voices are
not audible. the camera pulls away slowly and slowly until--

cut to present - vishesh is sleeping and moaning.

VISHESH
(whispering tenderly)
i love you ramya.... nannu odhili
vellamaaka... i love you ....

pan to brother his looking at vishesh. weirded out.
