Position and role

       Liaise with industry throughout the year to understand the manpower requirement.
·         Informing Students about the requirements of Companies
·         Scheduling interviews and lining up the students accordingly
·         Maintaining database of existing and passed out students
·         Maintaining placement reports and documents
·         Organizing Campus interviews & Pre-Placement Presentations
·         Identifying & Bringing targeted companies for Internship, Organizations Study &
Placements

Duties And Resposibilities

Identifying and contacting various industries and approaching them for placements. Building up
network with HR of different companies and getting references. Making Cold calls to companies
to check new requirements, followed up with mails and personal visits to the companies. Visits
to industries or forums /events to build network for placements. Maintaining database of Alumni
network for placements.
Managing the placements for students on the MBA. The Placements & Projects Office is in
contact with around XYZ number of companies, and the number of those located outside the
town has grown substantially over the past few years.
Overall responsibility for administration of the MBA placements, including advising companies
on choice of candidates, arranging interviews, matching job offers to students to satisfy needs of
firms and students. This requires initiative, planning and tenacity, plus a high degree of
understanding of a range of management functions and the content of the programme. Daily
decision-making is required, as are diplomacy and sensitivity to the needs of both parties.
Being the first point of contact for BBA students with enquiries about placements. This will
include providing job descriptions, application forms, collecting and recording completed
applications. Account-managing companies offering placements. This will mean scheduling in
of placements and maintaining the relationship. Overall responsibility for liaison with placement
providers to ensure that all students secure suitable placements.
Scheduling and planning for the year ahead and future placements.
Counselling students with personal and/or academic problems related to their placements, and
assisting students/employers experiencing placement difficulties in liaison with other student
support staff as appropriate. This requires specialist knowledge of recruitment criteria, the
capacity to assess students’ abilities and “profiles”, and sensitivity to students’ personal
circumstances.
Preparing and delivering materials for the BBA Professional Experience and Personal Learning
(PEPL) programme in accordance with Placement Operations Manager. Keeping attendance
records and chasing outstanding assignments. Duties and Responsibilities:
Conducting and organising placement visits as advised by the Placements, Projects &
International Manager and the Placement Operations Manager.
Supporting the development of relationships with graduate employers.
Bringing all aspects of the MBA placements in line with quality assurance requirements, e.g.
helping to set up a procedure by which all placement providers are checked for Employers
Liability Insurance and H&S.
Maintaining detailed records of student placement records required by the Programme Board of
Examiners.
Producing update reports for management information. Completing projects and submitting
written reports on findings and recommendations as requested.
Communicating with students, companies and staff via email, telephone and in person to
maintain relationships and manage the administrative and pastoral aspects of the role.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

This position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Student centered professional in higher education with the ability and experience to interact and
support a diverse student body in a positive, friendly, and welcoming manner.
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
Well informed of labor market trends, employer needs and best practices in career services.
Experience and Knowledge

Three years’ work experience in job development and marketing required, as well as previous
work experience building employer relations in a higher education setting.
Liaison with and experience of industry and commerce and of the various management
functions within large organisations.
Experience with business school career management required.
Interest in and understanding of current business issues and their impact on industry.
Experience of Higher Education and the student learning experience and personal development.
Familiar with social media platforms. Computer proficiency required. Excellent presentation,
networking and communication skills.
Experience and ease of use of virtual learning environments (e.g. Moodle) – set-up, adding
information, etc.
Skills

Demonstrable ability to maintain effective relationships with placement employers.


Clear problem-solving ability with reference to our various stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and clear examples of dealing with a
range of people, from CEOs downwards.
Examples of a high level of computer-literacy – Microsoft Word, including Excel, Access,
PowerPoint – for producing reports, and preparing presentations.
Ability to present to large audiences.
Teaching or training experience.
Experience of personnel work or recruitment of staff.
Knowledge of the graduate recruitment market, and recruitment criteria and procedures.
A good grasp of business education and how this fits students for positions in industry.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to schedule and plan within a cyclical structure.
Good time management and an ability to prioritise.
The ability to manage students’ high expectations. Good negotiating skills.
Should be proficient with MS- Office tools like Excel & Powerpoint, Google drive etc
