Use of Integrated Approach in Literature

In several scenarios inside the classroom, integrated approach is widely utilized.

This is due to its effectivity in the learning of the students and the approaches of the

teachers. In many ways, teachers tend to use integrated approach because it is very

timely. Most students are already knowledgeable of technology and they are very

competent in using those. In teaching literature, I personally use different integration of

technology also integration to different subject areas. When we talked about

biographies, we use games such as “Who wants to be a Millionaire?” to be able to

tackle the historical part of the life of the authors. In this sense, we only do not tackle the

biography of the also but also the history of the country where he or she lives and the

circumstances during that time. It will help us to better analyze the literary as well as to

better understand the mindset of the author on where he or she got the idea of doing

that literary.

Using integration, students not only learn my subject but also the other subjects

that are adhering or relating to it. this is just one of the many ways on how we can use

integration approach in the classroom especially in teaching literature.

In the second question, we all know that Jose Rizal is a well-known novelist and

poet not just here in the Philippines but also outside the country. In him writing the Noli

Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, I really agree in using literary as a channel to release

the ideals and emotions about the government or politics of a country. In writing, we do

not really give the real names of the involved because we can use other names of the

characters but we can surely write the situations wherein we feel that we are being

prejudiced or biased. In this manner, JPR’s utilization of his talent in writing the novel to
inform the people of how Spaniards treat the Filipinos is a very effective yet shadowy

way.

I really admires writers who show the unruly way of the politics while they are

being civilized or they are still protecting the identities of the people involved. They show

the biasedness but still it will not be very intimidating to the public.
