Dear Sir,
Submitted documents are not certified by Design Director and Proof Consultant therefore
can't be reviewed, however preliminary observations are as under ;
l. Hydrology and Geotechnical Report shall be provided
2. Adopted exposure condition is 'Moderate', kindly provide the supporting documents in
support of same
3. Since bridge under consideration is in widening proposal therefore details of existing
bridge i.e founding level, soffit level, HFL etc. shall also be included in drawing
4. Stability of abutment shall also be checked with FOS as mentioned in IRC-78
5. Since failure plane will start from edge of heel therefore coefficient of EP shall be
calculated according and stability/design shall be done accordingly
6. Stability of abutment shall also be checked for below mentioned load cases .
o Normal + Dry +No Span +EP
o Normal+ Dry+ Span+ Min LL+EP
o Normal +Dry+ Span+ Max LL+EP
o Above mentioned case shall be done with HFL and seismic case also both for normal
& HFL
7 . Permissible stress in steel in SLS check shall be restricted to 300 Mpa iri line with IRC-
tt2
8. wind load shall also be included in design of abutment and pier
9. Seismic design both of abutment and Pier shall be done in line with IRC-SP-LL4
10. For abutment wall, interaction diagram shall also be included in report
11. Design of abutment cap, dirtwall shall also be included in report
12. Adequacy of provided reinforcement shall also be checked for additional tensile force in
line with Clause 10.3.3.3(6) of IRC-112
13. Short term and long term stresses in SLS condition shall be calculated separately
14. Kindly reconcile that load cases along with appropriate load factor in line with IRC-6

Consultant shall be submitted for further review
