UPON YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS, AND IN ORDER FOR HP'S SUPPORT SPECIALIST TO

ANALYZE YOUR PROBLEM AND PROVIDE RECOMMENDATIONS, HP INSTANT CARE WILL COLLECT
AND TRANSMIT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR COMPUTER SYSTEM TO THE HP WORLDWIDE SUPPORT
ORGANIZATION. THIS INFORMATION WILL BE TREATED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE HP PRIVAC
Y POLICY AND WILL NOT BE SHARED WITH OTHER THIRD PARTIES WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION
EXCEPT AS STATED IN HP'S PRIVACY POLICY.
The data that is collected is based upon which system and diagnostics you choose
. The list below is representative, but not exhaustive, of the type of informat
ion HP Instant Care may collect:
1. Computer and/or printer configuration
2. Printer setup
3. Product and Serial Numbers
4. Hardware diagnostics
5. System device driver versions
6. Microsoft ActiveSync version, installation directory and settings
7. Device manager errors
Remote Desktop Sharing: During this support call, an HP support specialist may
launch the remote desktop sharing function for troubleshooting; your acceptance
of these terms indicates your permission for the agent to utilize the remote des
ktop sharing function. The remote desktop sharing function will install some Act
ive X plug-ins into your system.
HP Instant Care will place software application files on your computer needed du
ring the technical support session. Some of these software application files wi
ll remain on your computer after the session is complete. Which of the files re
main is dependent on a number of factors including how the session is closed. PO
RTIONS OF THE SOFTWARE APPLICATION FILES CONTAIN CODE THAT IS SUBJECT, RESPECTIV
ELY, TO THE PLINK LICENSE AND THE GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE. THE PLINK LICENSE

THE GNU LICENSE IS AVAILABLE AT HTTP://h20364.www2.hp.com/CSMWeb/GPL2.htm. THE

contact_us.html. Title to all other portions of the software application code,
and all trade secret and other proprietary and intellectual property rights (inc
luding copyright) therein, remains with HP and/or its licensors. You agree not t
o use, access, disassemble or reverse engineer any portion of the software appli
cation files not subject to the terms of the Plink or GNU licenses.
During remote desktop sharing, the HP support specialist will have access to you
r system. The HP support specialist will only review the information which is th
e support specialist believes is necessary to assist you with troubleshooting an
d will only use the collected information to provide support. You should close
all programs not related to your issue, you should remain at your computer durin
g the sharing session to view the agents activities, and you may terminate the s
ession at any time by right clicking the VNC icon in the task tray and selecting
Close VNC Server. The HP support specialist will treat the viewed or collected
information as personal information subject to HP's Privacy Policy. Please re

HP's support or trouble-shooting advice to you is strictly limited to the issues
raised by you and is based on the information provided to us. Problems and solu
tions may depend on the nature of the computer environment and various other par
ameters that are unknown to HP; therefore, HP cannot assume any responsibility o
r liability. You agree to accept this service and the advice or support provide
d at your own risk.
