Do you know that there are stars in the sea? Starfish are animals that live in the
sea and look like stars. People call them starfish but they aren’t really fish.
Most starfish have got five arms but some have got more. Some starfish have
got more than forty arms! At the end of each arm there is an eye. So starfish
with five arms have got five eyes and starfish with forty arms have got forty
eyes!
The starfish is an interesting animal. If it breaks an arm, it grows a new one. If
someone or something breaks a starfish in two, each part grows into a new
starfish.
People don’t eat starfish. That’s why there aren’t any starfish in the fish shop.
But you sometimes see starfish in pet shops.
